Levy explains

Lucy soaked in the hot springs, thinking about what had happened during the job.

"So, why is such a lovely lady like yourself in a guild? I bet your parents are worried about you dear." Inquired Prince James while she and her celestial spirit Cancer cut hair. When he asked the question, her hand movement slowed, "My parents are dead. I never inherited any money, I left because before my dad died, he was using money to control me." Lucy spoke truth leaving the prince shocked."Come Ms. Heartfilia, I'm sure I can show you a good time." James said but before Lucy accepted, she saw Natsu, full of anger and mumbling something about 'my Lucy' which had her worried. "Thank you for the kind offer, but I'll have to pass, I was thinking about having some alone time in the hot spring. Thank you anyway." Lucy declined with a smile and she heard a sigh of relief from Natsu. After both Prince and princess were satisfied with their new haircuts, the two mages collected their reward and returned to the Inn where they were staying.

"Hey Natsu? I'm going for a soak. I'll be back later okay?" Once she said this, she heard soft snores, 'Figures that he would be asleep.' Lucy thought, before she left she heard someone yell "You're not taking My Lucy you perv!" And then the sound of snoring.

"What did he mean by 'his Lucy'? Oh man this is overwhelming me. I'm not his right? I mean he's my friend and partner!" Lucy was really stressed and didn't notice the small being in the spring with her.

"What's wrong Lu-chan? Clouded thoughts?" Said a small bluenette that snuck up on Lucy and made her scream, until she figured out it was her best friend Levy. "Levy-chan? When did you get here?" Lucy inquired. "And you heard everything didn't you?" Lucy asked, embarrassed at what her friend heard, a shade of pink shaded her cheeks.

"I did hear everything, but why be so embarrassed? I can tell you have feelings for Natsu." Levy said with a giggle "It's not bad being with a dragonslayer, they are loyal, protective, and considerate to their mate." The bluenette said to Lucy.

"Mate? What the hell does that mean? Am I already mated with him?" Lucy looked at her short comrade with a confused look.

'Oh boy, this is going to be fun to explain' Levy thought irritably, but kept a smile on her face towards the confused mage. "Has Natsu been acting weird lately?" Levy questioned as she relaxed in the spring. Lucy looked at her and uttered "Yeah, he's been acting really weird, what's wrong?" The blonde asked her short friend.

Levy was putting her index fingers together, thinking; then she spoke "Well, as dragons mate for life, so do dragonslayers. Once they have found their mate they get really protective of them until they have marked her as theirs. Here I'll show you the mark." Levy said, she turned around to show her friend her white guild mark on her shoulder blade. Lucy's eyes widened when she saw the black outline of her mark.

"So you and Gajeel...?" Lucy asked with excitement in her tone. Levy smiled and responded, "How did you know?" In a playful voice.

"Your guild mark has a black outline, and Gajeel has a black fairy tail mark." Lucy answered. Levy looked at her bestie and smiled. "You got it! But there's more to this than meets the eye to mating." Levy announced to her confused friend.

"Like what?" Lucy asked, dreading the answer and after a few awkward seconds pass Levy says "Do you know that dragonslayers have sex differently? They aim to pleasure their mate, they would never just take what they want and leave you. Once you're mated you feel each others feelings, and sometimes thoughts. Plus you can use the same magic as your mate, which means that I can use Gajeel's dragon slaying magic to a certain extent."

Lucy looked scared, but calm at the same time. 'It's nice to know that he already loves me.' She thought. "Thank you for the advice Levy-chan! I better go back to the room now. I'll see you later." Lucy said as she was grabbing a towel to dry off.

"I hope my information helped Lu-chan! I'll see you later!" Levy said as she hugged Lucy and headed toward her suite.
