This book has had some major surgery, especially Chapter 5, and I've pretty much re-written all of the chapters. You don't need to go back and re-read everything but I suggest it (especially Chapter 5)

Ashley's POV

"Are you honestly stupid?! I spare your life, take you in, do my best to help you and this is how you repay me? I specifically remember saying no, Ashley!" Andy was furious to say the least. After the whole incident Andy took Chloe home, then practically dragged me back to the house.

He was currently pacing furiously, his heavy boots stomping loudly.

"I didn't know something like that would happen. I'm sorry, Andrew" I looked down and just watched his feet, too too frightened to make eye contact with the older vampire.

"You really have no idea how lucky you were. If someone had seen you you'd be dead by now. What you you have done if I wasn't there? That girl almost died because of your carelessness!"

"I'm so-"

"You aren't listening to me!" I flinched back at the sudden raise of his voice.

"I promise it won't happen again" I spoke quietly, "I didn't listen to you and it almost cost someone their life" I finally looked up at him, hoping he'd understand that I truly regretted disobeying him.

The vampire stared me down before, as if studying me. He eventually took a deep breath before slowly releasing it. I then noticed close close he was to me. I could feel his breath fan out over my face.

The atmosphere suddenly changed and not one of us spoke.

Andrew opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.

"Andrew?" I heard Jinxx's voice over the sound of blood pumping loud in my ears. "I know you're busy, but there's an urgent matter that can't wait." I could finally breath normally again as Jinxx drew Andrews attention away from me.

Andrew nodded at Jinxx before turning to me one last time.

"Disobey my orders again, Ashley and I will not hesitate to kill you. This time I mean it." That was the last thing he said, before disappearing"

"Are you alright, Ashley?" Jinxx asked, looking vaguely concerned.

I took a deep breath, before nodding, "yeah, I'm fine. I deserved it anyway for being so stupid."

Jinxx looked like he wanted to agree, but kept his mouth shut. "Don't worry about it anymore. At least you didn't get hurt." He offered a weak smile.

I wanted to argue, but knew that would only make things worse.

"Would you like me to show you to your room?" He asked and I just nodded.

I turned and walked away and I took that as my sign to follow.

After I'd been successfully escorted, Jinxx left abruptly and closed the door behind him.

I let out a breath of relief at finally being alone before flopping down onto the navy blue bed.

I was exhausted and didn't fight sleep as it pulled me down.
