LEVI
After what felt like hours upon hours, we had finally arrived on the beautiful land of Hawaii. The air felt fresher, the sun felt brighter but the tension was still holding my fun in a choke hold. Thankfully, our vans were split into kids and adults, and our only form of supervision was Francis and Val, two chill but stern people. Bless the adults except Astor with patience with that Daniela woman.
Once we had reached our resort, we were met with a kind face who provided us with leis and a practiced greeting and some strange men taking our bags up to our rooms. As we strolled along to the rooms, I felt a tap on my shoulder, I took off my headphones and noticed Val looking at me with concern in her eyes.
"What killed your mood? " she asked
"Nothing really, I just don't have a fondness to people who crash family holidays, that's all." I said with a shrug
"Is that really the problem with her or your raging crush on her boyfriend", she asked with amusement dripping through each word
I felt myself blushing as I responded, "I don't know what you're talking about, that was years ago. But raging crush or not, you do have to admit, it's completely senseless, rude and expensive."
"That is true but at least give her a chance, maybe she's got some redeeming qualities, plus you're stuck with her for awhile" she said as she walked away to join her boyfriend
The rooms had been split been split into 3 to 4 people in each room
ROOM 1- Val, Pacho, Astor and Daniela
ROOM 2- Me, Harley and Anabella
ROOM 3- Theo, John, Percy and Nado
ROOM 4 AND 5 - our parents occupied respectively
Once we finally reached the rooms, I crashed and slept for hours until Harley woke me up for supper time.
"Los my uit" I groaned
"As jy nie kos wil eet nie dan sal ek jou hier los. It means more for me" I could hear the evil smile in her words.
I got up begrudgingly and freshenes up a little, with a quick beanie over my head and the wiping away of the sleep in my eyes. I took a deep breath and prepared myself for this supper.
