~Grace~
I woke up feeling worn out, and found Emma sleepingbeside my bed in a sitting position.
The events of yesterday replayed in my head and I started crying.
I was going to get raped.
Tyler saved me.
Wait..Tyler saved me?!
Emma was awake now and was sitting on my bed, soothing me.
"Wanna talk about it?" Emma asked.
I nodded, "I was out for a walk, and I reached the swimming pool, where this group of guys were, they were the only ones there, they were swimming, so I didn't want to bother them, I decided to leave. Then, one of them tried to flirt and, like always, I got angry and snapped at them and was about to leave when the dude who flirted pinned me to the wall, and..." I trailed off, recalling what happened. I cried even harder.
"Shh," Emma held me in a bone crushing hug.
"The last thing I remember was Tyler being there."
"Yeah, he brought you here and asked if you ever talked about him," Emma said.
Seeing that she has caught my attention, she continued, "I told him that the last time you mentioned him was three years ago, while you have talked about him days ago."
I laughed in relief.
"That's more like it," she said and hugged me.
"Alright, i'll go bring you breakfast, you'll rest for today."
"Em, I'm coming."
"What? No way, girl. You need rest."
"Nope. I'm coming. Besides, I owe the freak a thank you."
"So...You'll get him a thank you card? Maybe a rose?" She wiggled her eyebrows.
"No," I glared at her. "Even better."
"Like what?"
I smirked, "You'll see."
I jumped into tights and a dress before wearing my coat.
We went downstairs and ate breakfast. After finishing, I took a glimpse of Tyler. Thankfully, he wasn't stariing at me like everytime, but he would sneak a little look at me every once in a while.
"Okay, guys. Time to go. Big day ahead of us," Mr. Andrew called out.
Everybody started filing outside. Its the perfect timing to talk to Tyler.
Knowing it was going to be awkward, I decided to call out his name, anyways.
"Tyler."
He stiffened before turning around.
~Tyler~
Hearing my name being called, by the voice of someone I'd like to wake up to everyday, I was shocked.
No one was in the room, except for me, Grace, Mark and Emma.
"I -uh," She stuttered. "Um, okay. I wanted to thank you for, uh, yesterday. You know...last night-" she was babblling.
I chuckled at how cute she was, "its fine, really. Pleasure to..." I trailed off, locking eyes with her. It was like a trance.
Mark cleared his throat, bringing me back, "Yeah, well, Always a pleasure, Grace."
"No, really. Thank you, but I really don't think I needed help," she crossed her arms.
"What?!"
I saved her!
"You heard me. I think I could've handled it by myself."
"Are you listening to yourself? Grace, you were scared, crying. You were a mess, if I -" I started talking, just to be cut off.
"You are no one to tell me I was a mess, Tyler. Sure, I was scared, but that doesn't mean I couldn't handle a situation."
"Grace!" Emma warned.
"What, Emma?" Grace asked, annoyed. "You know how much I hate owing people, even a thank you!"
"But I didn't ask you for a thank you!" I retorted.
"I said I could've handled it myself!" She fired back at me.
"Whoa, whoa, guys. Emma, let's go, leave them alone. And you guys, we'll leave you alone. But please, don't kill each other," Mark said.
We both nodded.
"Listen to me, Tyler," she hissed. "I could've done something. You know, act weak and when the leader pins me I kick him in the gut. And the others, well, they are nothing without the leader. Believe me, I act like a girl, but I am wild. I just wanted to thank you and let you know that even if appreciated, it wasn't necessary."
I looked at her. Her eyes -cold. Her voice -stern. Her expression -serious. I want the Grace my wolf saw. The soft Grace, smiley and cheery. Where is she?
"Tyler, you got me?" her voice grabbed me back.
"Yea -yes," I whispered, still looking at her.
"Good."
Without saying another word, she left.
Just like that, she left. Walked away from me, and it hurt.
My wolf howled in pain.
Why are you doing this, Grace?
I have the right to have you, and you will be mine. You're just taking the long, hard way.
