~Grace~

After putting Emma to bed, which took her an hour until she settled down, crying. I realized I haven't eaten.

So I went downstairs and ordered food. Waiting for it, I heard someone drag the chair and when I pulled my eyes away from my phone, I saw Diana -a girl who witnessed the incident five years ago.

She has hazel eyes and honey brown hair, she's tall and has tanned skin. She's pretty and sweet, but, really, you don't want to see her other side.

"Hey," I smiled.

"Hello, Grace," she greeted. "I wanna talk to you."

I gave her a look, telling her to go ahead.

"Its about Tyler."

"No, we aren't dating, the ball was a mistake," I said before she continues.

"I wasn't going to ask you that. I know you. And I know that mate of yours," her eyes bore into mine.

"What?" I asked, not capable of showing the right reaction.

"Yes, I'm a werewolf."

My friendship with her was a lie.

"Anyways," she continued. "So, I'm just saying. He's got my respect that he's an Alpha and all, but he may be dating someone.."

"What do you mean? He can't! Not if he's got a mate-"

"He's been dating Linda. You know, the cheerleader? Yeah, that girl... They've been seeing each other since they were fifteen."

Linda is head of the cheerleaders. She has brown hair and eyes, that change color when under the sun, also, she's got a smile that's worth a million and every guy worships her. And she's sweet. Maybe too sweet for her own good.

Then there's me. A cold hearted girl.

I have never felt this worthless before.

Or jealous.

Why did I feel jealous? Isn't that what I wanted? For him to forget me?

Right?

"So, you're telling me this to beware from getting my heart broken or to keep my distance from their relationship?" I asked.

"Both. Linda can be sweet, but remember, too much sweetness can diagnose you with diabetes."

Jealousy boiled inside me, but I managed to remain cool on the outside.

"i don't care, I'll be rejecting him, anyway."

"Good," she smiled.

"Thanks for the heads up, though."

"Its cool, see ya."

I waved at her.

Why does it hurt?

Why am I feeling jealous?

Why do I feel like I'm gonna breakdown any second now?

All this for...a person?

Unbelievable, Grace.

I smacked myself internally before digging into my dinner.
