It was now 5:00 A.M. and I finally found a hotel to stay in. It was pretty expensive, but I've been saving so it did not really bother me. I never really spent my money throughout the years. I had a lot left in my bank account due to the numerous amount of job I had and I used to work many jobs at a time. So, money was the least of my problems.

Dogs were not allowed in the hotel. I had to sneak Luna in my backpack and fake a sneeze whenever she barked. I was so tired I murdered something about being allergic to air to the receptionist.

I opened the door of my room and let out Luna. I had a huge bed and a great big shower. This was all I needed. I quickly took a hot shower and scrubbed frantically my skin with the soap. I changed in my pajamas and crashed in the bed, without even taking the time to get under the covers. Before I even knew it, I fell asleep.

I woke up at noon and for a moment, I honestly forgot about yesterday. I was just carefree little Krystel ready to have a normal day, just like any normal day I ever had. For as long as I can remember, everything was normal to me. Nothing was better than normal, it was just... a very regular day. A very regular life. I was always waiting for something extraordinary to happen, but nothing ever occurred.

I sat in my bed and Luna came to greet me, jumping from the nearby armchair where she was sleeping to the bed. She wanted to play and hid under the covers. She made me laugh when I needed to. This dog was so silly. I played with her for a couple of minutes before taking another long shower. I still felt dirty from all the smoke last night.

I decided to call Candice to see how she was doing in Hawaii. I was more afraid of what Bradley would do than really wanting to know how Candice was having fun. I dialed her number and waited for her to answer.

-Krystel! She seemed happy.

-Hey Candice. How are you?

-I'm great! Bradley and I are having the best time. The weather is great, the food is great, the activities are great. Our marriage is great!

I could not help but cringe at those last words.

-How are things in Hawaii? I carefully asked.

-Oh, Krystel. It's awesome, really. I never had the chance to thank you for your help, so thank you so much!

I could hear her smile through the phone.

-Well, it was my job.

On second thought, Candice was having such a good time. I did not want to bother her with all my troubles. She still had a week over there and I was going to ruin it by making her worried about me. There was nothing to be really worried about anyways: I have nothing left, except for Luna. Luna rested her head on my lap, like she was listening to the conversation with Candice.

-So, what is going in San Fran?

-Nothing much. I am just enjoying my free day of Ms. Wellington.

Sometimes, it surprised me how I lied easily.

-Yes, you better enjoy it. This woman gives me the creeps.

I laughed a little at what she said.

-So, are you enjoying the beach house?

-Yes! She almost screamed. It's the best. We have a beautiful beach behind the house and a stunning park nearby. The city is not so far away either.

-I am so glad you are enjoying it.

I hesitantly added:

-What about Bradley is he enjoying the honeymoon?

-Yes! Marriage really brings two people together. We are even closer than before the marriage.
