Chapter 20

Sophie------

When we arrived at the beach, the air was icy.

"Did you even check the weather?" I asked, crossing my arms to warn myself.

"No..." He said quietly. "In my defense, it's literally spring. Besides, once we're in the water, we'll be fine."

"I am not going in that water," I say, watching the waves slide up the shore before falling back into the ocean. "I don't like ice baths."

"Foooosssteeerrrrrrrr." Keefe whines, his shoulders slumping dramatically as he pouts his lips like a child.

I hold my hand up to him. "nuh uh-no-nooohohoo way." He begins stalking towards me. His pout now replaced with devious grin. "Keefe, stop. No- Keefe- Keefe." I back away, putting my hands out in front of me.

Suddenly, he leaps at me. Picking me up and throwing me onto his shoulder, before running towards the water. I kick and squeal at him to let me go but his grip is strong.

"I'm not sorry about this by the way." He say smugly before launching me into the waves. I let out a shrill scream as i fall into the icy water. I manage to grab a piece of his hair on my way down, pulling him with me. He lets out a small yelp as he tumbles.

"Holy shit that's cold." He remarks, staggering out of the water quickly. 

Keefe-----------------------

"Holy shit that's cold." I say, rushing out of the waves before things started shriveling. 

I glance towards Sophie who is on her hands and knees in the water. Her her dripping wet. She slowly turns her head in my direction, a dangerous and angry expression on her face. 

"Soph..." I say slowly. "...You alright..?"

"You tried to kill me."

"What?"

"You tried to kill me. You threw me in the water. The freezing.... cold water." She slowly gets up and stalks towards me.

"Okay Foster.. you're kind of scaring me now.."

"You tried to give me hypothermia. You tried to drown me. You tried to drown me with hypothermia."

I put my hands up, slowly backing away.

"You're scaring me Foster.."

"You must pay." She leapt at me, attaching herself to my body, trying to pull me down. "Get in the water. Get in the fucking water."

I staggered around trying to keep my balance. 

"Stop resisting!" She shouted. "You deserve this!"

I couldn't stand up any longer, and we both tumbled to the ground.
