Natasha's POV

I woke up the next day in the same place I fell asleep, my head on Steve's lap and his hand on my shoulder. Did he sleep like that all night? I couldn't help but wonder. I was looking up at him when I was met with a pair of piercing blue eyes.

"Good morning, beautiful." He says with a coy smile on his face.

"Good morning." I respond returning the smile and getting to a sitting position. "Did you sleep like that all night?" I ask before I could stop it.

"I didn't want to disturb you so yes I did."

"You're too sweet for your own good." I say leaning in and giving him a soft, sweet, loving kiss.

"You're worth being overly sweet for." That comment put a smile on my face. I couldn't help it, he was too sweet. That was one of the many reasons I loved him.

I look at the clock it read "6 o'clock." I had 6 hours to get ready I stretch my shoulder and Steve stood up and stretched too. He was probably overly sore. I look at him and realize that my "long" mission isn't that long. It was a week if everything went smoothly. In the worst case scenario I never came back

"Steve..." I start with a serious tone "promise me one thing."

"What's that?" he asks suddenly concerned.

"If the mission goes south and something happens, promise me that you'll move on, and keep moving forward." I say looking into his eyes.

"Hey... don't say that. I have faith everything will be okay." he says softly wrapping his strong arms around me.

"Just promise me."

"Okay, I promise."

I remained in his arms a minute longer before realizing I still hadn't packed and so I stood up, ever so slowly.

"I need to go pack."

"I'll come help as soon as I get a shirt and shower."

"Okay." I smile as I leave for my room across the hall. I change into my suit first then I loaded my guns and put them in their respective hoisters. I then sit on the bed considering what I needed. That's when I realized I only needed a few clothes and extra ammo. That's when a knock came and Steve walked in.

"As promised, I'm here to help."

"Thank you, but I'm almost done."

"Too bad I'm helping." He said in a childlike voice which only made me want to hug him.

"Okay Stevie, you can help me pack."

"Yay." He said in a cute voice, and I smile.

He helps me pack a few clothes and a few extra guns. As soon as we were done, we sat on my bed talking about random things. I had noticed it was 11 and my smile faded. I would have to leave at 11:30 for the helicarrier.

Steve noticed and looked at me. "You remember the promise you made to me?"

"Yes I promised that I'd be careful." I say as I get up off the bed. I roll my shoulders a few times and look at him. He was ogling me, I didn't mind.

"Help me stretch." I say rather boss-like. He didn't seem to care as he got up off the bed and helped me stretch.

I look at the clock it read 11:25. Steve knew I had to go.

"Be careful."

"I will be, I will be back." I say, hoping I wasn't lying to him.

"I'll wait for you, as long as I have to." He said as that line made me want to cry. It made me want to stay with him but the sooner the mission was over, the sooner I got to come back.

I smile slightly. "Goodbye Steve. See you when I get back."

"I'll tell you what you missed and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again." He says with a smile.

He came up to me and put his hand on my cheek and I melted. He slowly brought his lips to mine for a short but sweet kiss. "For good luck." He says with a coy smile.

I smile and make my way out the door. I look back to see him standing there he waves me goodbye and I do the same as the elevator comes and I enter it.

"Roof."

"Confirmed." The robotic voice responds. I wave to Steve as the elevator doors close.
