Steve’s POV

“We need to find we can’t just leave with Hydra.” I say looking at Fury who sat in his chair looking straight at me

“I am not going to commit Resources to Save one agent.” He said “It may be agent Romanoff but I cannot risk many agents to save a single one”

“After all she’s done for this agency and you treat her as she’s expandable” I say angry at his response. I had a feeling it was all a show but I was too angry to question him.

“All agents are expandable…” he said sliding an envelope across the desk

“What’s that?” I ask running a hand through my hair

“Your new assignment…” He said looking at me.

I take it and leave his office and went the apartment Natasha and I shared. I dropped on the couch and decided to see what Fury had for me. I open the envelope and found what I had been fighting for. My suspicions had been correct. Fury was just telling me all those things for the record but he did want me to find her. There was also an address here in Brooklyn. I was told to be there at 8 o’clock so I went and arrived there at 10 to 8. So I waited outside the building. That’s when Fury and Agent Hill Pulled up in a dark van.

“Get in” agent Hill instructed me and I did as I was told.

“So you want me to find her?” I ask wanting answers

“Yes Cap that’s why I’ve made it your assignment and Agent Hill and I are going to Help you as best we can, however we cannot offer any official back-up. If you find someone who you think can help you, you are more than welcome to try and convince them, and it’ll have to be off the record.” He says looking at me through the mirror.

“Isn’t this whole operation off the record?” I asked knowing the answer

“Yes Cap it is. It is your job to find her” Hill informs me.

I nod slowly. “Any ideas on who might be willing to help me?” I ask looking at them.

“There are a few candidates we thought about. All fine agents and extremely loyal. We feel they’ll be an exceptional fit for this operation” Hill said looking at me as she handed me 3 files.

“Good luck Captain. Romanoff is counting on you.” Fury said looking at me and I exit the van and sigh

I was determined to find her so I was going to do exactly that, find her and bring her home. I had no leads but I was going to find her no matter what I was bringing her back.
