Morse Code

Clint's POV

I haven't seen Nat in a few days, which was normal; she was probably kicking bad guys down on a mission like she usually did, so I didn't worry. I walked into Fury's office as he had requested my presence. He seemed concerned, distraught even. I looked at him and he sat down in his chair across from me, and his eye became darker.

"What's this about?" I ask getting a little uncomfortable.

"It's about your best friend and one of my best agents." Was all he said but I knew right away what he meant.

"Natasha..." I whisper softly to myself.

"We lost contact with her two days ago, and she missed the rendezvous point." Fury continued.

"Are you sending out a search part for her?" I ask fearing his answer.

"I can't do that because..."

"Why not?" I snap hearing that Natasha was in trouble.

"Agent Romanoff knew what she signed up for. She knew that if she missed the rendezvous point I would assume the worst."

"What was her mission even?"

"Infiltrated and destroy three hydra bases, she had completed two of three, when we lost contact."

"It's not like Natasha to..."

"She's held captive by hostiles, is my assumption." He said.

My eyes widen, "And you're going to just leave her there?" I ask shocked.

Fury doesn't answer as I was requested downstairs.

"Barton you're dismissed and there will always be lost casualties."

I don't answer as I could feel my blood boil inside me I walk to the room where I was requested they were getting a Morse code transmission and wanted me to translate it. I sat down and put on the headphones.

I write down the frequencies. Then I decode it.

Clint, I've been compromised, I managed to escape the hostiles but I missed the rendezvous point. Tell Fury I'm okay. I'm at the safe house Fury knows about. Mission accomplished.

I smile and let out a small laugh.

"You scared the living hell out of me." I whisper to myself.

I run to Fury's office and hand him the paper he reads it and assigns Steve, Thor and a few agents to go with me so we can save Natasha. I walk to Steve's room as quickly as I can and knock.

"Clint... what's the matter?" he asks.

"We have a mission. Thor will be joining us." I say as I start fidgeting.

He gets his shield puts it on his back and walks with me.

"What is the mission?" he asks innocently. I knew what I was about to tell him will hurt since he loved her, but I had to tell him the truth.

"We have to take Natasha out of Hostile territory before they get her." Was all I said as I saw his expression change I couldn't put my finger on the emotion. We walked to the quinjet and head to the safe house I just hoped she was okay. If she was hurt I could tell by Steve's expression, whoever hurt her was going to be in a world of hurt.
