Brainstorm is not a brain under a storm. Brainstorm is a sudden clever idea or a discussion to produce ideas and ways of solving problems.
Sounds easy or it sounds like it is based on luck... But no.
To brainstorm one needs to have a paper. Write everything you want to write about even if you think it is against you. After 10-30 minutes of thinking, eliminate those parts you don't really like. Then, with the remaining topics try to make a short plot. When the plot is ready, you can then continue to the chapter of your book.
