The war had begun. There was no doubt about it. And Alice was standing between two things. Two people who meant everything to her. How could she choose between her lover and her godfather?

With every passing second, she reviewed the decision she had made again and again. She kept wondering if she had made the right decision for everyone.

But now...

"Are you ready?" The familiar male voice asked.

She didn't answer. She lowered her head with a sad expression on her face and hesitantly nodded. She was afraid of the developments such a confrontation would take... Such a battle. Because that's where they would end up.

In a civil war.

She could hear their voices. She could hear the two men arguing, each laying out their own arguments on the table, when she emerged from the darkness and stood next to him.

She didn't dare to meet the man's eyes across from her. She was afraid she would see that expression of disappointment painted on his face. An expression that would testify to betrayal and pain.

''Alice? the man asked, not believing his eyes.

''I am so sorry...'' The girl said in a trembling voice, ''my love.''

She could feel the twins, like they stood across from her, their faces filled with disapproval. She was listening to them. She was reading them. They were thinking that she had abandoned them. That all her sacrifices had fallen to the ground. Sacrifices for their lives. Pietro still loved her. He never thought that there would be a day that he would have to defeat her again, like the time he was with Ultron.

But she never stopped caring for them, nor did she stop agreeing with her godfather's plans, just because she had followed him. Other reasons led her to make this decision.

''Steve...'' They turned and saw Nat. ''You know what is about to happen. Do you really wanna punch your way out of this one?''

Then, Tony, with a dramatic tone in his voice, declared that he was out of patience. Little did the poor guy know that he wasn't the only one. Alice had been losing her patience for a long time, since no one believed her words.

Suddenly, a spider web ensnared the girl's partner, yanking him toward another person the British woman recognised. Recently, she did not doubt that she was often sidelined in her godfather's life—not because of Pepper, but because of this other individual. Her godfather was clearly captivated by the little guy and eager to hear his ideas for hours on end. Meanwhile, he completely ignored the negotiation process with Alice regarding this absurd situation.

''Nice job, kid.''

''Thanks'' He said shyly. ''Well- I- I could have stuck the landing a little better. It's just a new suit. It's nothing, Mr Stark. It's perfect, thank you.''
