THE first thing the light hashira heard upon walking in cafe pothos was the quiet grumbles leaving kotoha's lips. hearing the bell chime, she lifts her gaze from the many cardboard boxes filled with sandwiches.
"ah, [name]." her expression softens, the irritation slightly fading. "good timing, umemiya asked specifically you to deliver these to furin." she sighed, resisting the urge to pinch the bridge of her nose. "I'm not sure why he needed so many sandwiches today, but seriously..." she crossed her arms in exasperation at umemiya's antics she should have gotten used to years ago.
the said [h/c]ette shifts her gaze from the brunette muttering under her breath, flickering her eyes towards the sandwich boxes compiled on top of each other. [name] felt the corner of her brow itch in annoyance, lips thinly pressed together.
kotoha notices the twitch in her indifferent expression, her narrowed gaze calculating the amount of boxes. "if it's too much for you to carry, I can..." without finishing her sentence, she wordlessly watches as the [h/c] haired teenager effortlessly scooped the sandwich boxes into her arms—barely breaking a sweat.
"I'll help you buy the groceries on the way back." she offered, causing the brunette to quickly shake her head.
"oh... no, it's alright [name]." kotoha sweatdrops, amused at her strength since the first she'd seen it—remicising through the memory of the large bump on sakura's head. she stiffles in her laugh at the core memory, her eyes meeting [e/c] hues. "I'll go buy them later on my own, just deliver these to furin, okay?"
[name] blinks once. twice. a moment of silence, as if she completated against the thought before eventually answering.
"if you say so. stay safe."
"of course," the female hummed in consideration, waving her [h/c] employee off as she left through the door, the bell chiming at her departure. "you do so, too." kotoha voiced out under her breath, a gentle smile on her lips.
a fond look appears in the brunette eyes, propping her chin against her palm as she reminisced at the thought of the [h/c]ette's stoic attitude had seemed to soften recently. she seemed... more comfortable around furin.
her indifference stayed the same, however.
not that kotoha minded—she adored that part of [name]. she was just grateful she seemed to act more like the age she's posed to be. despite herself acting mature at times, kotoha preferred the [h/c]ette to act a little more freely.

"oh! glad ya made it, [name]!" he greeted at her arrival, "sorry for makin' you come up all the way to the rooftop to find me." the leader sheepishly rubs the back of his head, "but hey—"
