Not a Fairytale

I can't be!

Jessica quickly went out of the car, while Sarah ran after her "Jessie... take it easy!!" She yelled after her. "....I just wanna get it over so I can go home....!" Jessica said with a low voice, while they walked into the doctors office. Sarah quickly walked after her, and they sat down in the waiting room. "Do you feel any better?" Sarah asked with a soft voice. Jessica took a deep breath before she rubbed her forehead and nodded, and then sent an empty look out and into the room.

"Ms. Lange?" The doctor said, and both Jessica and Sarah stood up. Jessica slowly turned around and looked at Sarah ".....Sarah you can just wait here.... I can do this by myself!" She said with a little smile before she followed the doctor into one of the examination rooms, and Sarah sat back down, with a magazine in her hands.

"So Ms. Lange.... you haven't felt great lately...Huh?!" The doctor asked while he looked down at a bunch of papers in his hands. Jessica took a deep breath before she looked up at him with tired eyes "Well, I have been really nauseous lately, and I have had some bad headaches!" She said with a weak voice, while she brushed some of her hair away from her face. The doctor took of his glasses before he looked down at her... ".....I have to ask you.... Are you sexually active?". Jessica's eyes expanded, and she looked at him in shock... "..Well ..of course!" She said with a low voice without really thinking about the split. "....Do you use birth control!!" He continued while he wrote something down on his computer. Jessica just looked at him as if he was a ghost. "Of course!!" She said again with a stern voice. The doctor slowly looked down at Jessica before he said "Okay.... well then I think the only way to figure out what's wrong with you, is to take a blood test and a urine test!" He said while he took out the equipment he needed. Jessica looked at him in shock again... "....A urine test?" She almost whispered. The doctor quickly looked up at her, while he made sure everything was clean. "Yeah... just to make sure you're not pregnant!" He said with a soft voice. Jessica quickly felt a lump building up in her throat, and she didn't knew what to think. She couldn't be pregnant, they always used birth control, she was on the pills....

The first thing the doctor did was to take a blood test. When the needle touched her skin, her body jumped, and she felt tension building up in her body, mixed with horror.... She really didn't knew what to think at this point.... It had never hit her mind that she could be pregnant.

5 minutes later Jessica came back from the toilet with a cup in her hand, before she sat down in a green chair, in the corner of the room..... "Well we have to wait at least 10 minutes, to get the results back!" The doctor said with a soft voice, while he walked out, leaving Jessica there all alone.

Jessica couldn't sit still after the doctor left. What if she was pregnant? She couldn't be pregnant.... She couldn't handle that right now!! It was impossible...... But what if?........ What was she going to do.... Having a baby with Danny, she couldn't have a baby with him. He couldn't be a parent. He couldn't even take care of his wife...... She kept thinking about all this things, and suddenly tears came down her cheeks.

"Ms. Lange I have the results!" The doctor said with a concerned voice, while he walked in. Jessica looked up at him with big eyes; she knew exactly what he was going to say when she saw the stern expression on his face "....I'm pregnant right?...." She asked while tears started to roll down her face. The doctor bent down in front of her, and slowly looked up at her, before he nodded "...Yes you are!".......... Jessica held her breath while she was crying, and she quickly covered her mouth with her hands, trying to restrain herself from making too much noise. "Oh, god!" She cried, while she looked away from the doctor. "I assume a congratulation isn't the right thing to come with right now?!" He said with a concerned voice. Jessica wiped the tears away, before she nodded. "Well, if you want you can have a quick ultrasound before you make any drastic decisions!" The doctor asked. "To know how far along you are!" He continued. Jessica didn't exactly knew what to say, because she knew that if she did that... it all became real..... But before she knew it she carefully nodded her head yes.

The doctor directed her into another room, and she laid down in a bed, before the doctor placed some cold jelly on her stomach, which made her flinch when it hit her skin....In a slow movement, he placed the scanner on her stomach, and started moving it carefully back and forth. Immediately they could hear a strong heartbeat, and it made Jessica smile slightly through her tears. It was just really weird that she actually had a life inside of her..... But then she suddenly started to think about Danny again. He couldn't be a father, he couldn't even be a husband.

"If you look over at the screen you can see your baby!" The doctor said, while he pointed at a screen located beside Jessica. Jessica slowly looked up, and her eyes expanded. ".....Do you see this little thing... that looks like a peanut?" He asked with a little smile. Jessica kept crying, while she gave him a look meaning that she did "Well, that's your baby!" He said while he moved the scan again. Jessica couldn't help it, and she slightly started to laugh. She was carrying a little child inside of her. ".......It seems like you are about 9 weeks pregnant!" He said while he carefully moved the scan down to the side of her stomach, to get a better angel, before she slowly took it away.

Her doctor followed Jessica out. And on their way out all kind of different thoughts popped up in Jessica's head. She was having a baby. She was having a baby with Danny. A man she wanted to divorce, and man that she hated..... She didn't even knew if she could be able to take care of a child....... before she knew it she quickly started to feel dizzy, and she grabbed the doctors arm, before everything suddenly became black.....

"Ms. Lange!!! Jessica???" She could here around her. She slowly tried to sit up, but someone pushed her back down again. "Oh my god! Is she aright!" She could hear a familiar voice, it was Sarah...... Sarah slowly rubbed her arm, while Jessica slightly opened her eyes. She looked around with scared eyes, because she didn't knew where she was. She couldn't even remember what had just happened.... She started to think hard, while some people tried to get contact with her. In a quick moment, she looked down at her body, while she was laying on the floor, and a man dressed in white placed a stethoscope on her stomach..... Suddenly everything came back, pregnant, and it made tears fall down her face. "Are you okay Jessica?" Sarah asked with a concerned voice. Jessica looked up at her with a pale face, before she whipped the tears away "Yeah... I'm fine!" She said with weak voice, before she tried to stand up.... One of the doctors quickly grabbed her around the waist and supported her up. Jessica had to catch her breath before she looked around her with small eyes. "I'm .....I'm fine...!" She said again with an embarrassed smile, before she slowly started to walk away.

"Jessica....!" Sarah said with a low voice, while she ran after her. Jessica just quickly walked out of the doctor's office, even tough she didn't felt good. The only thing on her mind was getting away from there....getting home..... Sarah unlocked the car, and before she knew it, Jessica quickly opened the door, and slammed it behind her....

Tears were running down her face. Everything was wrong! She couldn't take it. She took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but it just turned out to become more intense crying, and she quickly started sobbing, covering her mouth with her hands.... Sarah just looked at her with concerned eyes, she didn't knew what was happening, and what was making Jessica so sad "Jessie please tell me what's wrong!! You're really scaring me!!" Sarah said while she carefully placed her hand on her knee. Jessica slowly turned around and opened her mouth as if she was going to say something, but it just turned out to me more crying. She slowly rested her head towards the window, and just looked straight forward, while tears were escaping her eyes. "Jessie-" Sarah started with a soft voice, before Jessica whipped some of her tears away, and looked at Sarah with watery eyes........ "I.....I'm...... I'm pre.... I'm pregnant!" She managed to whisper throughout the tears. Sarahs mouth dropped, and she looked at Jessica with big eyes, while she moved her hand up to her left shoulder and carefully stroked it up and down. "I'm carrying his child......!" She continued breathless, almost looking like she was having a panic attack..... In a quick movement Sarah leaned over and wrapped her arms around Jessica, and hugged her tight. Jessica immediately started sobbing into Sarah's neck, while Sarah rubbed her back, and whispered in her eat "....Shuuu..... It's going to be alright! ....You can do this!" With a soft voice. Jessica slowly broke away, and her face was pale and her eyes were all read..... She held her breath, while she nodded her head no, and more and more tears came down her cheeks. ".....No...Sarah.... I don't think I can!" Jessica said with the most heartbreaking voice.....
