I woke up to feeling everything that I didn't feel yesterday. My body hurt all the way to my bones and I felt like I couldn't feel my ankle because of the pain medication I took yesterday. Blinking I saw that the sun was about to rise, the soft glow of dawn filling the room. I noticed a figure move over in the side of the room, and shot out of bed, my ribs protesting instantly.
I was about to panic but then actually took a look at his face and it calmed me down.
"Sorry I thought you were a random person" I laughed laying back down, wincing slightly. He just stared at me and I looked at him questionably. "Are you okay Hunter?"
He rolled his eyes at me and took a step forward. He seemed to fill the small room with his body, and I noticed he looked a little more muscular than usual. He also had a slight scar on his neck, which I had never noticed before.
"I'm not him" his gruff voice answered. I shivered as pure power seemed to roll off of him.
"Then who are you?" I was very confused at this part. This man in front was almost identical-and then realization hit me just as the door opened up, and, I think at least, was Hunter entering. His presence filled the room with a calm shadow, and his smile sent warmth straight to my chest.
"I see you met my twin Hayden" he said coming over to my side and sitting on the corner of the bed. "How are you feeling Nola" I heard what sounded like a growl come out of Hayden's mouth and Hunter shot him a glare. Hayden huffed, rolled his eyes, then walked out the door not even making eye contact with me.
"That was a bit weird" I giggled, blushing as Hunter sent me a playful smirk. He took my hand and kissed it slightly.
"I'm happy to hear you laugh, hopefully that means you're feeling better"
"Yeah, I mean I'm really sore but hopefully I can walk around some." Hunter stood up then held out his hand.
"Here why don't I help you" A few muscles painfully contracted, and joints popped out of place as I slipped out of the bed. Other than that it felt wonderful to stand like I was yesterday, without much help. Hunter stepped back and stood by incase I tumbled. I took one step, leaning heavily on the bed and my right leg. My left leg was heavy with the cast. Next I took my hands off the bed and tried to stand still. Once I gained my balance I walked one step without any help. It was too much at once and I tumbled down, almost hitting the floor if it wasn't for Hunter who grabbed me and held me close to his chest.
"Easy there" he said, I felt my stomach jump into my throat, my heart beating rapidly.
"I'm okay" I whispered as we stared at each other. Hunter set me gently on the edge of my bed then smiled.
"How about I give you the tour of our community" Hunter asked stepping away from me with an eager grin on his face.
"Um I can't walk yet?" I gave him a blank look, we just finished establishing that or at least I thought so. He gave me another grin before he held up one finger in a "one second" motion before he was out the door and let it closed behind him.
I waited in silence, my toes curling in anticipation. Hunter seemed really nice but I had not seen any other people, or heard any. I wondered who's house I was in. Either Hunter, Hayden, or Angel. It was strange that even though they were complete strangers I felt completely at ease with everything around me.
Just then the door burst open, startling me out of my thoughts. Hunter stood in the middle of the doorway, a big grin plastered on his face. Then he bowed, sweeping a hand to the object behind him.
"Your carriage awaits my lady" he said as I got a good look at the wheelchair behind him. Walking forward Hunter gently gathered me into his arms and carried me across the room in the direction of the doorway. Hayden passed by the doorway, stopping in his tracks when he saw us. His brows raised and a scowl was automatically placed on his face.
