Chapter 4

Skye's POV:

I woke up with Ed gripping onto my body tightly. He was curled up around me as if I was completely trapped in his grasp. I looked down at my arm, I hadn't looked at it for a while and, it looked pretty bad. I hating doing it, it made me look even more ugly but, I couldn't help it. Only Ed can make me stop but.. he wasn't there.

"Skye", Ed mumbled quietly. "Yes Ed?". He opened his eyes and looked closely at my arm. "Doesn't it hurt?". I frowned, was he that stupid? "Of course". He sat up and looked into my eyes, as if he was looking for something. "I don't get it", he ran his finger over the most recent cuts making me flinch. "Tell me. Everything. Where did it start?". I sighed, taking a deep breath.

"At about, 14 my mum, got a new boyfriend. He, wasn't a very, nice person. He, hurt my mum. But, she wouldn't leave him, and she's probably still with him. I got uh.. a bit bullied at school so..". He interrupted, "How did you do in school?". I shrugged, "On my 16th birthday I just left and moved up to London, I never got my results". He frowned, trying to think. "So, it was all so bad, you started self harming?". I nodded, not wanting to say anymore. "Where does your mum live now?", he asked and again I shrugged. "I haven't spoke to her in nearly 4 years". Ed nodded, "4 years tomorrow". I looked at him shocked, "how di-", he laughed. "Someone's turning 20 tomorrow!". I scowled, not wanting to stop being a teenager. Still laughing, he kissed at my neck. "I'm going to give you the best birthday.. ever", he mumbled through the kisses.

"Under one condition". I nodded, as he stopped kissing me. "Promise me you'll never self harm again". I bit my lip nervously, not knowing if I could keep this promise or not. "I- I- uh.. I, I promise..". He smiled and kissed my arm. He was trying to make the effort it was cute but, I was just scared of him ever leaving again. I don't think I could take it if he did it again. It really hurt me, and not just physically either..
