The Cobra Kai's walked into the bar, Avery with Kwon by her side. Making her way to the counter she called over a bartender for a kid friendly drink. "Whatever's good." She murmured.
When her drink was finally placed in front of her the bartender asked if she had a tap, before she could answer she heard the one voice she never thought she'd hear again. "I got this round. Sponsors are paying for this trip anyways..you should take some photos. Remember your one trip to the big time." Zara gave her a fake smile, leaning against the counter facing Avery.
"Thanks. But watch your fake little smile, because maybe those teeth will look better as a photo op. Next to my trophy when I win this whole damn thing." She gave her a small fake smile back. "Thanks for the drink. Sweetheart." Grabbing the drink she pushed off the counter and left to find the other cobra Kai's.
She ended up finding Kwon, sitting in the bar stool slowly sipping away at her drink. She hated drinking, the taste was horrible to her even if others told her too. "Your boyfriend better at kissing or fighting on the mat?" Kwon leaned in and whispered into her ear, sending chills down her spine. "Kwon shut up!" She shrugged him off.
Avery groaned, finishing her drink. "I..need to get out of here. This place is too noisy, and I think my dad wants me back anyways." She put down the glass cup and made her way out of the bar, pushing past people till she was walking on the sand alone. Her body shuddered naturally walking through the cold air.
Taking off her shoes Avery walked on the beach, sand in her toes. Getting closer to the water she noticed somebody practicing kata, Axel. The one guy who was built like a machine and fought for the iron dragons against the annoying pony tail girl. He looked up, slightly startled at the sight of a bother person on the beach.
"Sorry..I didn't mean to startle you. I'm..Avery." She gave him an awkward wave as she stepped closer. "Axel. I..I'm not supposed to be speaking with opponents." He quickly spoke, looking away from the girl in black. "We're not on the mat..plus it's pretty late to be training. Super bad you didn't invite me? Sand in your toes? Favorite feeling an ever when I'm on the beach." Avery let out a small chuckle, arms wrapping around her body. When Axel bent over to grab his shirt she noticed big red marks all over his back, as if someone had hit him across the back multiple times.
"Woah woah..what happened to your back?" She quickly jumped forward, wanting to help but he took a step back. "Nobody's been able to land a hit on you..how.." She trailed off, reading his facial expression, he clearly didn't want to talk about this. Not with her. "Uhm..listen your dojo's pretty great? Not one hit. Wish years of experience would let me be like you." She tried to joke around with him, but he kept a stern expression. "You're pretty..your dojos pretty good too. Well try to be. I mean third place is..good."
He swayed slightly. "Mind if I join? Your walk. You're heading back to hotel and that's where I was going to.." Axel held his shoes in hand too, patiently waiting for an answer.
"Uh..yeah. No that's cool. Always down for some company." Avery smiled, a genuine smile as she's began her walk towards the hotel with Axel.
As the walk continued they were laughing as they spoke about random moments that happened in their lives. Sometimes getting serious to talk about Cobra Kai, her past, his past. Finally telling her about what his sensei does. For a guy with a nice body? He was such a weak innocent soul on the inside. "There's other ways to teach.."
They stood side by side, hands in pockets. "Not a way to just lash out at you if you make a mistake. Sure it makes you tough but not tough on the inside you know? Mentally." Avery looked up at the sky, sleepy but she still admired it.
