Story- Chicken dinner

A mother and father of a six month old baby needed someone to baby sit for them. Their neighbour, an old woman, immediately volunteered for the job without payment.

The parents agreed and told her to be there by 8:00. The parents waited till 8:00, but the woman hadn't come yet. The mother called her, "hey, were are you, it's 8:00?"

"Oh, I am so sorry, I had completely forgotten." The woman explained. "I'll be there right away." The old woman hung up and arrived shortly after.

When the old woman got there, the mother told her the plan. "You will put the baby to bed at nine, and put the raw chicken in the fridge in the oven to cook for dinner for when we get back home." The mother explained.

The woman agreed and the parents left for the party.

A few hours later the parents called the old lady to check up. "Have you put the baby to sleep yet?" She asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I had completely forgotten."

"Have you put the chicken in the oven?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I had completely forgotten."

The mother sighed and continued, "well, be sure to do it fast because we will be home pretty soon." She hung up.

Later that night, the adults came home to see the old lady waiting for them to return.

The parents thanked her and she went home.

The mother went upstairs to check on the baby to be surprised to see an uncooked chicken in the babies crib. The mother, puzzled, noticed a burning smell in the air.

Then her husband called up to her, "you won't believe this honey!" He said.

"That old woman has burned our chicken dinner!"
