-(Ryder's POV)-

I wake up and feel Cameron in my arms.

I smile for a bit, until it turns upside down.

Cameron said this needs to stop, whatever this is. But it pains me. I like Cameron. A lot. Even after all these years, after countless of girls, I still only think of him.

I reluctantly let him go and sigh.

But I'll respect his decision. After all, it's not like we are dating. No matter how badly I want to.

But I can't lose him. So if all I am to him is just his best friend, then so be it. As long as I'm with him in some way, then I'll be fine.

Hopefully.

I sigh again and sit up.

Am I repulsive to him? Is that why he doesn't enjoy this? I know I can be arrogant at times, and a douche bag, but I'm trying hard to not be.

Before I get the chance to wallow in self loathing some more, May walks in.

"You and Cameron aren't dating huh?" She asks quietly.

I shake my head and she falls to her knees.

"Why? I'm pained. I'm so pained to hear this depressing news. Why have you forsaken me lord? Why?! What have I done besides write smut and enjoy ice cream? I don't understand how these two creatures, so obviously in love-"

"May shut the fuck up." Cameron snaps sitting up. "I'm trying to sleep."

She gets up and glares at us. "Well maybe if you two were actually dating that wouldn't be an issue."

"May. We're just friends. Been that way since kindergarten." He says rolling his eyes.

I frown and May catches my eye, smirking deviously.

"Okay." She says happily and walks out.

"Your sister worries me sometimes." I say.

"Yeah. Try living with her for 16 years."

I laugh. "No thanks. What do you want to do today?"

"Go back to sleep."

I just stare blankly at him and he pouts. "Fine. Let's go get ice cream."

"I'm going too." May says popping her head in the door.

After about an hour of everyone getting ready we all head out to the nearest ice cream shop.

Suddenly May starts laughing maniacally from the backseat.

Cameron turns around in the passenger seat to look at her.

"What are you planning you evil child?" He asks.

"Who me? Oh I'm not planning anything dear brother."

I look in the rear view mirror just in time to see her give me a wink.

I just stare at her confused and park my car.

We all get out and get our ice cream before sitting in a booth, with May and Cameron in front of me.

I would've preferred Cameron on my side but whatever.

"Um. Excuse me?"

We all turn to look at the speaker and my breath leaves me a little bit.

A girl with red hair and the most beautiful green eyes stands there.

"Hey Felicia! I'm glad you could make it. Have a seat!" May says smiling.

Felicia smiles back and takes a seat next to me.

I look over at Cameron and see him frowning a bit and looking down.

I then look at May and see her grinning widely.

"Sorry guys. This is my friend Felicia. This is Cameron my older brother and that's Ryder."

"Nice to meet you both. I've heard a lot about y'all." Felicia says sweetly.

-Time Skip-

"Really? You did that? Was it scary?" I ask Felicia.

"Completely and utterly terrifying. Sharks are pretty nerve wracking, you know." She replies laughing.

I find myself smiling at her for maybe a moment longer than normal and suddenly feel something touch my foot.

"Sorry was that your leg?" Cameron asks with a bit of an edge to his voice.

"Yeah but it's fine." I answer looking at him weirdly.

He just softly sighs and looks out the window.

I'm brought out of my thoughts as I feel a hand on my thigh.

I look over and see Felicia smirking at me.

Before I have the chance to say anything she leans over to whisper in my ear.

"Call me sometime. We should....hang out....this next Friday."

She then slips a piece of paper in my pocket and stands up from the booth.

"Well this has been fun everyone. But I have to go. Bye Cameron! Bye May! Bye Ryder." She gives me a wink and walks out of the small shop.

"I'm gonna use the restroom." May says and walks over to the restrooms, leaving Cameron and I in an awkward silence.

"What did she whisper to you?" He asks still looking out of the window.

"Nothing important. Just to call her sometime."

He just nods wordlessly and sighs.

May comes out after a deafening five minutes and I sigh in relief.

We all leave the little shop and get in my car.

"Is there anywhere you guys wanted to go?" I ask as I pull out of the lot.

"Can you drop me off at the mall? I'm gonna meet some friends." May says.

"Sure." I say and head towards the mall.

Because the shop is close by, we get to the mall in the matter of a short ten minutes.

"Hey. Be safe May. See you later." Cameron says as May gets out.

She just laughs. "You worry too much."

"Are you okay Cam?" I ask after a few minutes of driving.

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

"You just seem a little off."

"Oh." Is all he says.

Now I know there's definitely something wrong. He'd usually give me a sarcastic response, and for him to be this quiet is a little unnerving.

But I won't pry. He'll tell me when he's ready.

I park in his drive way and turn to look at him.

But instead his lips meet mine, and I force myself to back away.

"Cameron. You were right when you said we need to stop this."

He looks at me for a moment before something flashes in his eyes.

"Yeah." He says emotionlessly. "See you at school tomorrow."

He gets out of the car and quickly walks into his house, still leaving me confused.
