Chapter 8: We Don't Want You Here!
"Can't you see what you are doing being back here? Lucy is crying all the time, Albert is trying to calm her but he can't! Why can't you just go back to where you came from?" Everybody in the Alcott family was stressed out and nobody wanted to talk to Rose or Ella.
"I came home to let you see your child! The one whom I ran away with!" Albert didn't understand why she said that, he didn't understand why she left. It had been ten years and he still loved her but he didn't want to accept her back with open arms because his children would hate him.
"Did you go back to see your mother? I'm guessing that is where Ella has been raised?" He would be surprised if she didn't go there because there isn't anywhere else she could go.
"Yes, I went home and I saw my own mother die in my arms! How do you think I feel? I was six months with child when my mother died! She didn't even get to see her own grandchild!" Rose was now looking and feeling furious.
"I wanted you there with me, but I couldn't bring myself back. I would have lost our child and myself. You have to understand, I did this for the best. I love you, A.J, Harry, Lucy and Ella all equally, but it doesn't look like you love me the same way. I'm sorry for what I have done and if you want me to go back to my family then I will."
Albert didn't want her to go; he wanted her to stay right here, where she was. He knew the children wouldn't like it but they would just have to like it because she was staying right here and not going anywhere else.
"The children will not like it, but you may stay here if you want to do that. I need help with getting Lucy someone to marry. She will start her first season soon and hopefully she will find someone straight away. I don't want her waiting like you did." Rose smiled and moved to sit next to her husband.

Lucy stood outside her father's office waiting for one of them to start shouting, but it never happened.
"What are you doing?" Lucy jumped out of her feet and turned around to see Ella standing there. "Mother says it not nice to spy on people because maybe they don't want people hearing what they are saying." Lucy was getting annoyed by that voice, it was a squeaky voice that anybody would hate and Lucy defiantly hated it. She didn't want to hear her so called sister's voice.
"Well, I don't really care what you 'Mother' has told you, I haven't had a mother in ten years and I don't want her to start being my mother again." Lucy walked away from her sister; she wanted to get away from this place. She wanted to find love and have children soon, but that would never happen. No man would ever want her.
"I'm sorry." Lucy was too busy to notice that she had bumped into a man and she didn't know who this man was.
"Who... who are you?" Lucy was scared at what she saw. This man had a scar going all the way down the left side of his face, it had either been done with a dagger or a sword, after all he did look like had fought many battles. He walked with a wobble on his right leg, like he had injured and it hadn't healed properly. He wore a navy officer's uniform that hung perfectly on his body.
"I'm Captain Lucas; I'm here to see Lord Albert Alcott about his eldest son joining the naval army."
"A.J? He would never want to do that. He hasn't told me about that. My father, he's in his office. I can walk you there if you like?" Lucy looked at the man in shock but then understood why A.J hadn't told her about it.
"Yes, I don't know where I'm going and I would like some assistance of going there if you would not mind." Lucy nodded and set of slowly because she had noticed his leg.
"You will have to walk slowly please, I have injured my leg and I have to take my time to walk." Lucy understood and walked slowly with him.
When the Captain and Lucy got to her father's office, Lucy knocked on the door and waited for an answer. Her father then later opened the door with a non-surprised look on his face like he was expecting the Captain to be at his door.
"Captain, welcome to my home, I see you have met my daughter. Lucy your mother would like to see you in your room. Please go and talk to her, even if you don't like her that much darling, she is sorry for her actions." Lucy nodded and walked away. She didn't want to go and see her mother but if she had to see her then she had to see her.
It seemed like the longest walk towards her mother bedroom, she should have been staying in Albert's room but he didn't want her in there just yet. All she could think about was Captain Lucas, she was guessing that that was his last name as mostly all the captains go by their last names and not their first as it was more appropriate to do so.
For a man with a scar on his face he was very handsome, it didn't affect him at all. What she would give to marry him, but he was probably twice her age most likely, but that didn't stop her mother and father from marring as they did. Thinking about her mother made her realise that she was outside her mother's room. She braised herself for what her mother had to say to her after all the excruciating long years. She rose her hand and knocked on the door, she heard a muffled "come in", which she knew came from her mother's mouth.
"Rose, I hope Ella isn't in here, or I'm leaving." She didn't call her mother, mother she called her by her name.
Rose's face was in pure shock as to what her daughter had said to her, she called her little sister a brat, but not only that she called her by her first name which she had never done before. She wanted to scold Lucy, but she knew she couldn't because she wouldn't listen to her as she obviously wasn't her mother any more.
"Your little sister isn't here no, I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry and that I'm staying. I'm not leaving again." Rose spoke softly and with love to her eldest daughter, showing that she wanted peace only.
"Well we don't want you here. None of us do, so why don't you just go like you did the first time!"
