Life had been very good for the Brimley family. With the twins now both three and A.J eleven they were all very good children, just like their mother and father wanted them to be. Albert had made a promise to Rose to spend more time with his family then he had ever before.
He had got the children home schooled because Rose didn't want them to be away from their family. Rose hadn't got home schooled because she was a hyper child and her sisters weren't. She was so distant from her family when she was younger and because of that she didn't want her children to be like that. It was a horrible feeling being distant from somebody and she never wanted her children to feel the way she did.
Harry and Lucy were growing up like happy little children because they saw their mother and father every day, they were hyper children that never stopped running around. Always looking for things to play with or things to break. Harry was so much like his father when he was a child because Albert did all the things that Harry does now. Now Lucy is like a little lady in the making, always doing what her mother is doing, she copies her at the dinner table and how she walks and the way she dresses. This is how Rose wanted her life to be, normal in a way but still happy in where she was living.
It was coming up to Albert's thirty-first birthday and Rose had been setting up the dining hall (with the help of the servants) because she had invited some of their friends over for tea, but also Rose wanted to tell Albert that she was with child again. They have only just started to make love again because Rose was always scared that Albert was going to hit her again, but she thought he didn't know it was that reason, but he really did.
Rose felt a tug at the bottom of her dress to see her beautiful twins staring up at her. She thought that Albert was looking after the children today, but obviously not. Rose went down to the floor to see what they wanted.
"Papa's angry at us Mama. We didn't mean to make him angry, it wasn't out fault! I'm sorry!" Harry rushed out his words to get out if the situation more quickly. Albert got angry at all his children sometimes because they could really get on his nerves. A noise broke the silence that was going on.
"Father is not very happy with you Harry. You shouldn't have done that. It was uncalled for and it's his birthday." Rose looked up to see A.J with a stern look on his face. A.J had also become very much like his father and when Albert went away A.J was always master of the house and he liked to take that to a full advantage.
"Will someone tell me what Harry has done?!" Rose could feel herself getting angry and she needed to sit down. The stress wouldn't be good for the baby at all and that was all that she was really worried about.
"Harry threw mud at Father's face and Father isn't very happy right now." Rose sighed. How was she going to cope with another child coming into the family if she can't look after three of them? Albert wasn't really that much of a help either as all he did was play with them or discipline them only a little.
"I'll go and talk to him. Why don't you go up to your rooms and play for a while?" Rose got up and walk to where she thought her husband would be. She found him in his study looking at some papers. There was no mud on his face so he must have wiped it off his face.
She walked over to him and stood next to him. Albert looked up at her and smiled. He pulled out his chair and made his wife sit on his lap. He kissed her neck and smiled when he heard her giggling. He had and will always think that her laugh was the most beautiful sound in the world because she was amazing in his eyes. Rose was his world.
"I have something to tell you." Rose said in a hushed voice. "I was going to tell you at the party tonight, but I think you need cheering up a bit." She wanted to tell him now to make him happy. Albert looked shocked as he didn't know there was a party that had been planned for his birthday. He just wanted to spend time with his family and not worry about anything else.
"You might as well tell me because I think I do need cheering up after what Harry did." Rose sighed. He was going to shout at her for having another child growing inside of her.
"Harry was only playing with you, after all you do keep saying that he is very much like you when you were a child, even though in my point of view you can be a child yourself even though you are in you thirties now." Rose loved to tease him sometimes; it made them both happy as they both did it to each other just as much as the other did it to them.
"He still shouldn't have done it. He just ran off and left me there and then Lucy ran after him as they are both very much like each other. Now will you tell me what you want to tell me as you are starting to go pale and you had colour in your cheeks when you came in and now you do not have any colour in them at all?
"I-I'm with c-child again." Rose looked at him to see what he would say. Albert kissed his wife hard on the lips. Another child, another baby, another part of their family that they would cherish for the rest of their lives just like their other children.
