Rose and Albert had been living a happy for life for many months without their families. They had taken a trip to France and were travelling around the whole country. They would never go out of their bed chamber because they were always making love, wanting to have a child of their own.
Today was the day they were going back home, the servants had been looking after A.J because Albert's parents and siblings had to go back to their home.
"Where is my son?" Albert asked his butler as soon as he got into the castle. He wanted to see his child because he thought Rose couldn't give him any children.
"In his room my Lord." Albert set of too A.J's room to see his son. Once he got there he hugged the life out of him never wanting to be away from his only child again.
*********
Rose sat down on the bed in her and Albert's bed chamber. She couldn't just sit there, so she started to space. She could hardly get into her dress this morning, she had noticed that she had put on weight but it might not have been weight that she was putting on.
She knew for defiant that she was with child, but she couldn't tell Albert. He looked sad all the time and she didn't know how to make him happy. She heard the door open and saw it was Albert.
"I have something to tell you my love." She was going to tell him.
"What is it; I need to go back to my son. We are going riding in the forest for a while and we don't want to be disturbed." Rose looked at him. He had changed. He wasn't the loving man that she married any more. He didn't care for her and that was upsetting her as well.
"I can tell you when you come back if you would like?" she suggested with all the kindness she had.
"Oh just tell me, you god damn woman!" Albert had made his way over to her and had lifted his hand to smack her. Rose coward down, she never in her life did she think that he would ever lift his hand to a woman, but his own wife.
"I am not going to let you near my child!" Rose stormed out of the room crying her eyes out. It was the only way she could tell him. She saw A.J making his way towards her.
"Mother, what is wrong." A.J wanted to know because he saw tears running down her face.
"I am not, your mother!" Rose went passed him, leaving him shocked. Rose had to get away from this place; she couldn't let her child be hurt by him.
Rose found a horse and took off. It was good she always carried money with her. She didn't know how long she was riding for, but she had to stop. She found a little hill with a little cabin down at the bottom of it. She knocked on the door and a little old woman opened the door. She looked like she was in her fifties, because of the grey hairs and the wrinkles that were starting to form on her face.
"Oh my child, come in you'll catch a cold standing out there." Maggie was shocked to find a young lady standing at her door. She never once had visitors from anyone.
"Can I take shelter here please? I need to stay here." Rose said with urgency, she had to get out of the cold weather.
"Stay here as long as you want my dear." Maggie could see that she was with child, by the bump that was showing through her dress.
"You're with child I can see. Who's the lucky man then?" Rose smiled at how happy the old lady was; she had such a kind heart. "Silly me I'm Maggie my dear and you are?"
"Rose, my name is Rose Brimley. He isn't really a lucky man." Maggie gasped at the name. She must have been his new wife everybody was talking about.
