Chapter 4

We finally made it to the quinjet where they had made a makeshift bed out of folded blankets. Steve laid me down carefully and Natasha and Vivian quickly surrounded me.

"Are you alright?" Natasha asked holding my face in her hands.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," I nodded trying to smile.

"Says the girl with a bullet in her arm," Viv laughed.

"Vivian, why don't you teleport to the helicarrier and report back to Fury and have medical waiting for us when we land.

Vivian looked at me one last time before vanishing. Captain brought a medical bag over and opened it handing supplies to Nat. She gave me some pain medication and said that in a bit she would give me some to fall asleep.

"You looked so pretty tonight," she said to me trying to distract me as she cleaned the wound.

"Thanks, it was nice...." I whimpered at the stinging of whatever liquid she had put on the wound, "It was nice to actually dress up and go out for once." She finished cleaning and began wrapping my shoulder.

"Will she be okay?" Steve asked beside her.

"She'll be fine, Addie's a fighter," Nat smiled at me.

"You also forgot that I heal in a few days time," I added.

"Yeah that, don't be a smartass," she laughed, "

"Yeah, you can't get rid of me just yet, Captain," I joked as Tony brought in Loki sitting him at one of the wall chairs.

"How you doing, Remy?" Tony asked.

"Just peachy," I said sarcastically. Nat went to start the jet as we waited for Coulson. Steve stayed by my side until Phil came rushing in.

"Let's get out of here," he ordered and then knelt beside me. "Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. Why does everyone keep asking that? I'm not dying," I said as we started to take off and I whimpered at the pain.

"Alright, Captain, you stay here with her and I'll go co-pilot the plane," Coulson said before getting up. Tony and Steve stood a few feet from me talking about Loki.

"I don't like it," Steve said truthfully.

"What?" Tony teased, "Rock of Ages giving up so easily?"

"I don't remember it being ever that easy," he said glancing at Loki, "This guy packs a wallop."

"Still, you are pretty spry, for an older fellow. What's your thing? Pilates?" Tony asked and I grinned.

"What?" Steve asked confused.

"It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple things, you know, doing time as Capsicle," he answered and Steve glared at him.

"Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in," Steve said.

"Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you," Tony shot back.

The quinjet suddenly lurches has I hear a crack of lightning and I roll hitting my shoulder and let out a sob.

"Where's that coming from?" I heard Natasha yell.

Steve came over to my side helping me back onto the makeshift bed before looking over at Loki.

"What's the matter?" Steve asked, "Scare of a little thunder?"
