THE OUTBREAK

Chapter fifteen

Joshua-

I ripped my sleeve off of my shirt and held it to make the blood from my nose stop dripping (it continued to bleed the next day) and I went over to Bri to ask her if she was okay, and right as I was about to ask her she stood up and yelled "you need to get her in-control and I don't want you being friends with her anymore" she paused and crossed her arms and said "if you still want to be with me" and with that she walked to the bench and sat down. I didn't know what to do have a girlfriend or be friends with my ex-girlfriend so I got up and walked up the stairs onto the roof and realized that June and Daniel were gone. So I started to look around for a bit they weren't in the supply closet or anywhere else so I looked down in the alley way and Janelles body was gone, so I screamed

"JUNE, DANIEL WHERE ARE YOU GUYS AT" then I heard something knock over the garbage cans in the alley I looked down to see a group of zombies run up to the building banging on the windows below so I ducked down and tried to stay quiet but Bri screamed and hundreds and hundreds of more came. I didn't know what to do so I ran down stairs and grabbed Bri by the arm and pulled her into a corner and whispered

"Don't worry we'll be fine, just follow me" she got up obeying my command, we made our way to the rusted back door I opened the door and walked out motioning for Bri to come out and we made a direct b-line to the gym down the block trying not to made any noise until Bri looked back and slammed into the garbage can in front of the gym it fell onto the ground with a loud clanging noise, spilling all of the rotting trash all over the ground. I heard a grunt and looked over to my right and saw a decaying body standing four feet away and saw another one, I pulled Bri by her shirt and ran into the gym slamming the doors and put a broom into the two door handles. I walked over to the vending machine and kicked it and all of the snacks fell out and the glass shattered, i heard laughing, so I spun around on my heels and shouted

"If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have to be locked in this stupid gym, so stop laughing and make yourself useful help me set up a area to sleep in" she stopped laughing and gave me a hard look and shot back with

"You know what I'm not going to help you do anything anymore you can set up your own area I'll sleep over there" she pointed to the weight room, and walked away with her arms crossed and a smug look on her face. I sighed loudly and wondered to the supply closet I found a couple of fire blankets, cleaning supplies, five gallon water jugs, and stacks of cups. Bri walked up behind me and snatched a blanket off of the top shelf, turned and walked away, I followed her down to the weight room to apologize, she turned around and I started

"Bri I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to snap like that I was just scared and -" she cut me off

"It's fine, but don't do that again, or else" I laughed at her threat and hugged her, she pushed away and said "do you know what I would give for a shower" I sighed

"Please don't mention that word" I paused "please" she giggled and responded with

"What? Sho-" I stopped her by tickling her and she punched my arm and we both headed off to bed.
