The rain was a violent symphony against the windshield, mirroring the frantic rhythm of Barra’s heart. Each drop hammered against the glass, blurring the world outside—a world they had just stolen themselves from. His knuckles were white, clutching the steering wheel of his Grandparent vintage Jeep had lent him. The old engine roared with a guttural, defiant protest as he pushed it past its limits. Behind them, the faint, persistent glare of headlights had just vanished into the deluge of the Java night—not police, but something far more discreet.

"Al, are you sure about this?" Barra’s voice was a ragged whisper, barely audible above the storm. As a law student, he was trained to weigh evidence and calculate risks, but right now, every logical bone in his body was screaming danger. "Those weren't just random cars. Your father has eyes everywhere. He’s not going to stop at just watching us."

Alma, seated beside him, remained utterly serene. Her gaze was fixed on the endless, rain-swept highway stretching before them. A strange calmness settled on her features—a look Barra had never seen before. It chilled him more than the cold wind whistling through the Jeep's door gaps.

"Keep driving, Barra," she murmured, her voice a low, steady current in the chaos. "Just keep driving. To Bali."

Barra’s mind raced. Bali. A thousand kilometers away. He had agreed to this escape, thinking it was a desperate plea for her father's blessing—a final gamble to save their future. But as he looked at Alma, he felt a cold tendril of doubt. He was risking his scholarship, his mother's peace, and every dream he had worked for as a future lawyer.
