(Y/N) POV:

"Long time no see merboy." Watching as he walks towards the pool's edge, body slipping in with a quiet ripple of the waters parting around him. Immediately wrapping around him in the next instant.

"Sounds like you missed me." voice carrying over the water, wading forward slowly.

"You wish."

"Maybe the thought that come to the pool at night just for me is a bit too tempting." Close enough that I see the tease in his grin, in the darkness of his eyes from under his curls.

"Don't flatter yourself."

"Such a sharp tongue siren."

He looks at my mouth like he likes that. Gaze lingering on my lips

"Sirens aren't meant to be sweet are they?"

"No...they're not. You're right. Besides..."

"What?"

"I like the sharpness... the rough tough siren." Voice lilting, wading closer and closer, each movement purposeful, intentional, marking a steady path towards me.

"Like being told what to do? A good boy are you?"

"Oh I'd be any kind of good for you siren. If you wanted me to." Finally close enough that the timbre of his voice sends goosebumps skittering across my skin. The water's long since warmed to my skin but something about his voice sends shivers dancing down my spine, limbs taut even without him having touched me.

"What makes you think I don't?"

"I don't really know you, but I know you enough to know you like someone who pushes back at everything you give. Someone who fights for control just the same way you hate giving it up."

"Wrong."

"I don't think so."

"I don't mind giving up control to someone who earns it. But then again... where's the fun if I show all my cards? If I give in too early, too easy."

"See siren. That's what I like about you."

"I'd rather you didn't like me at all." Words brusque, but his grin only widens. Gaze pointed, watchful.

"Don't flatter yourself."

"I meant this-is a turn on."

"A girl in the pool dripping for you?" I tease, watch as his lips quirk, the flash of a teasing smirk playing on his lips.

His smile is sharp.

"That too but I meant this. Someone who knows what she wants. Clear cut. No mess."

"That's cos merboy messy's only fun if you have time for it. And that-I don't have."

"Time?"

"I haven't got a lot of time tonight-"

"Running away Cinderella?"

"Nice try charming. Some of us have got training at dawn." Fingers curling into water-slick skin, hand curled against his shoulder, nails dragging through curls. Tugging his mouth nearer to mine.

A reminder that in a few hours this all is gone. The pool, him, this. All a blur, all shadows and memory.

"Flattery will get you anywhere." He remarks.

"Oh yeah? What will it get me right now merboy?"

A broad hand grips the back of my leg, hitching it up, fingers pressing into the low of my thigh. Body slotting nearer, hips rocking forward with a slow deliberateness, eyes sharp with mischief and want. Head dipped to mine, lips ghosting across my own.
