Andell, or Mama Odie, meets Belle.

(Andell pov)
The next morning, the bakery smelled like sugar and possibilities. Belle was kneading dough when a warm, rhythmic voice called from the doorway.
"Well, well, well! Ain't this a fine little slice of sweetness I done stumbled upon?"
Belle looked up and blinked. A small, energetic woman with bright eyes and a cane decorated with beads and charms stood in the doorway. Mama Odie.
"I... I'm Belle," she said, politely cautious.
Mama Odie's eyes sparkled. "I know who you are, sugarplum. And you must be the one they call 'Shortcake' around these parts. I hear tales of a young man trying mighty hard to keep himself from stealin' hearts he ain't ready to handle."
Belle smiled softly, the warmth of Mama Odie's presence immediately putting her at ease. "He... tries his best."
I chuckled, coming closer. "Child, that boy—Davis, Cinnamon, whatever you call him—he's pullin' at powers he barely understands. And that includes... you." She tilted her head knowingly. "You see, love ain't just feeling. It's responsibility. Patience. And knowing when to hold on and when to step back."
Belle nodded. "I try to help him, but... it's complicated."
Mama Odie tapped her cane gently on the counter. "Complicated is life, sugar. But you got the right heart. And lucky for him, you got the patience. You don't need to fix him. Just be honest, just be steady. He'll find his way, with or without the cards."
Belle's eyes glimmered. "And the cards?"
Mama Odie leaned in, lowering her voice conspiratorially. "Child, they'll always be there, temptin' and shiny. But don't mistake the sparkle for the answer. You gotta dig deeper, look past the shimmer—see what really matters."
Belle smiled, feeling the wisdom settle into her chest like a comforting weight. "I understand."
Mama Odie clapped her hands lightly. "Good. Now, I'll leave you two lovebirds to your dough and dreams—but remember: keep your hearts honest, and the rest'll figure itself out. And tell Cinnamon I said... don't play with powers bigger than your patience."
With a wink, Mama Odie departed, leaving Belle in a quiet, thoughtful silence.
