Chapter 17 ✵
Leslie ✵
A month later....
For the past month both Wardell and I have been practicing and getting ready for the basketball season. That means we won't be seeing each other that often which makes me sad. I haven't spoken to him in two weeks and it's driving me crazy. I've been missing him like crazy and being away from him is not helping our relationship at all. I just want to be able to spend some quality time with him.
"George get your head in the game!" My coach yelled throwing me out of my trance.
Since our last game coach has been working my ass off to make sure what happened last time don't happen again. I'm okay with it because I have been slacking a bit.
After about a half hour more we finished practice.
"George over here." My coach called waving me over to the side.
I came over to her making sure to wipe all of the sweat dripping down my forehead.
"Yes coach?" I asked her.
"For the last couple of weeks you have not been focusing and we need you to get your act together." She told me while staring me.
I nodded my head in agreement.
"I know and I will." I confirmed.
"I'm willing to give you a break so you can get everything together. Are you fine with that?" she asked me clearly concerned.
"There's nothing wrong though. I don't want to take a break." I argued furrowing my eyebrows.
"Leslie there's clearly something going on. Now I want you to take a week off and clear your head. Find out what you need to be doing." She explained to me.
I just shook my head and walked off.
There's no point in arguing with her. She'll always win. I don't understand what's the problem. Like just because of one bad game everyone's looking down at me and stuff. I'm not the only one on this team so why am I the only one to blame.
I practically ran to the locker room where I seen Amber waiting for me.
"What did she want to talk to you about?" Amber asked being nosey.
"I'm going on a break for a week." I said plainly before shrugging my shoulders.
"What?" She questioned.
"I'm going on a break." I repeated taking my gym bag out of my locker.
"Well for how long?" She questioned again curiously.
"For a week." I replied back stuffing stuff into my bag.
"Ugh that's not fair. My ankles are damn near swollen and you get to go on a break. I swear they always give you the special treatment." Amber complained stumping her feet as if she's still a little kid.
"I wish we could trade places." I told her honestly slipping my bag over my head and slamming my locker shut.
"I'll see you later." She mumbled before storming off somewhere.
I just shrugged my shoulders and continued to walk to my car.

I pulled into Wardell's parking lot and parked my car near in front of his house. I quickly hopped out and went to his door. I got his extra key which is behind a patch of flowers and then I opened the door.
"Wardell." I called out not hearing a sound at first.
I stepped into his house and closed the door behind him.
I then started searching the house for him.
I found him and Klay in his game room playing 2k16.
"You're always cheating like can we ever have a fair game?" Klay yelled out making Wardell bust out laughing.
He didn't notice me until I sat beside him.
"Hey baby." He said trying to kiss my lips but I blocked his lips and made him kiss my cheek.
He gave me a weird look for a minute before continuing his game.
"Klay don't be mad because you suck." Wardell teased Klay.
I just sat there and pouted hoping Wardell would get the memo.
After a couple of minutes later and they were finally finished with the game.
"Alright dude I'll see you later. I have to check on my girl Amber." Klay mentioned dapping Wardell up.
"Tell Amber I said hi." I mentioned giving him a side hug.
"Will do." He said before leaving the room.
Now it's just Wardell and I.
I sat beside him with my arms crossed and my pouty lips.
"What's wrong babe?" Wardell asked giving me a small smile and pulling me onto his lap.
"I missed you a lot." I told him in my baby voice.
"I missed you too. I really have to work on making more time with you. It's just been a lot on my plate with practice , Riley , and Riley's mom has been driving me nuts. I'm sorry if I haven't been showing you enough attention , I really do care about you , and I promise to try to make more time for some us time. Okay?" He asked looking up at me with his beautiful eyes.
I nodded my head and smiled.
"Okay daddy." I said sexily before pecking his lips.
Wardell chuckled. "You tryna start something huh?" He asked beginning to kiss on my neck.
Maybe this week won't be so bad...
