Chapter 9 ✵
Leslie ✵
"Amber you didn't have to bring your whole closet." I complained as I put the last bag of her four bags into my car trunk.
"Leslie, you know how I am. I can never choose what to wear." She stated as she closed the trunk.
Our coach is completely fine with us going to Cleveland for Game 6 because he's a fan of the warriors and he figured we needed a day off so he gave everyone a day off today. He expects us to all be ready for our game on Monday though.
"We're gonna be late because of you!" I snapped getting into the drivers seat while Amber got in on the passenger side.
"Calm down. We have an hour to get to the airport and get on the plane. What's got you so nervous?" She asked making me look at her.
I sighed before starting up the car.
"I'm just a little stressed out with us having a game Monday and all." I explained to her.
I pulled out of the parking lot of her house and then we made our way towards the airport.
Amber grabbed my hand making me unflustered.
"You get like this before every game and what do I tell you each time?" She questioned raising her eyebrows.
"It's good that I'm nervous and it helps me play better." I repeated the words she told me two weeks ago.
"There you go." She said with a satisfied smile on her face.
"Your right." I said letting go of all my nervousness.
I sighed before continuing to drive to the airport.
After ten minutes of driving to the airport we finally made it.
"I can't wait to get there!" Amber exclaimed as we grabbed all of our bags.
"Me too." I said with a smile on my face.
Once we gathered all of our bags we went through everything we needed to go through and now we're waiting for our plane to be ready.
"Are you hungry?" Amber asked me as we sat down on the chairs.
"No , I'm fine." I replied back pulling out my phone from my back pocket.
"Well I'm going to get something to eat before we get on the plane I'll be right back." She told me before she went wondering off to get something to eat.
I looked at my phone to see that I have two text messages.
From: Wardell 😍😘
I hope you guys have a safe flight and I can't wait to see you. 😏From: Mom 💀
Your father , sister , & I will be coming to your game Monday.I almost gasped when I seen my mom's text because my mom doesn't like me playing basketball. She always thought that it was a waste of time and she thought that I should be a model or something. My father on the other hand loves that I'm a basketball player and he has always been supportive. My sister is the same way as my mom and they both have only been to one of my games.
I replied back to Wardell's text first.
To: Wardell 😍😘
Thanks and I can't wait to see you too. 😉
To: Mom
Okay. 😊I tucked my phone back into my pocket once they announced that our plane was ready for boarding.
Amber showed up just in time to board the plane too.
We sat in our seats in first class and the first thing I did was plug in my headphones and listened to some J.Cole.
Counting down the hours until I get to see Wardell...
