Epilogue ✵
Leslie ✵
"Curry shoots another three! He's on a roll tonight!" The announcer yelled making both me and his mother stand up to cheer him on.
I playfully popped his jersey that I'm currently rocking.
"Mommy, I can't see!" I hear our two year daughter yelled from down below.
Unlike Riley, Paisley is really small and could barely see over everyone standing in front of her.
I giggled before picking her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist and held onto my neck.
"I'm sorry baby. Can you see him now?" I asked her pointing to Wardell who just sent us a wink.
I blushed and made a gesture telling him to focus on the ball.
"Yayyyyyyy!" Paisley yelled throwing her arms in the air.
I smiled at her and kissed her light cheeks.
Paisley popped her mouth open like a 'o' as Wardell made his way up the court with the ball.
We all watched the clock as it counted down the seconds until the game would officially be over.
Wardell quickly passed it to Klay , Klay dribbled a bit before passing it to Draymond , and to end the game Draymond passed it to Wardell making it easy for him to shoot a clean three. Wardell being the goofy man he is already knew he would get the shot and gave Andre a high five to confirm it.
The crowd went into a uproar making everyone jump into the air with joy. The energy has been lit tonight. I grabbed Riley's hand as we all made our way to Wardell to bask in the glory.
"You did it!" I yelled as Wardell reached me and pulled me into a big hug.
"All for you baby." He whispered in my ear planting a kiss on my cheek and Paisley's as she was squished between us.
"Yayyyyy daddy!" She yelled wrapping her arm around his neck keeping him close.
Wardell smiled showing his adorable gap and kissed her cheek again before hugging Riley.
After that he went and talked to the rest of his family.
"When are you two gonna tie the knot?" Sydel asked coming over to me.
"Huh? What do you mean?" She asked catching me off guard.
"You know exactly what I mean." Sydel said with a smirk on her face.
I blushed. "I don't know but hopefully soon."
These past two years with Wardell have been amazing. After what happened two years ago we've grown closer and even rekindled our love. That's how we ended up with Paisley shortly after we got together. Paisley is truly a blessing and Riley thinks of me as her second mom now. I couldn't think of a better life to have. It doesn't matter if Wardell wants to marry me now or later. I'll always be waiting for him.
Sydel smiled at me.
"I'm glad he found someone other than his ex-wife Ayesha. You and him make a great couple." She replied back hugging me before walking away.
I smiled back at her before turning around to see Wardell on one knee.
I damn near dropped Paisley when I seen that ring in his hand.
Wardell chuckled a little bit as I held onto Paisley before Seth came up to me to take her.
"I got you sis." He said sending me a playful wink.
"Baby....we have spent two wonderful years together and I couldn't be anymore happier then I am right now. Even though we've had some rough times we have also had some very good times. I love you so much, probably even more then basketball, but I was wondering if you would marry me?" He asked almost making me scream.
"Yes! Yes, I will marry you baby!" I yelled out jumping up and down.
He chuckled and grabbed my shaking hand. He slid the ring onto my finger before pulling me into the biggest hug ever.
"I love you so much." I mumbled as tears cascaded down my face.
"I love you so much more." He replied back making everyone that was left in the room cheer.
As I was wrapped in Wardell's arms I could see Sydel behind him sticking her thumbs up.
"Did Sydel help you with this?" I asked him as I pulled back.
"Yeah, she did actually. She helped me pick out the ring, she handed me the ring a couple of minutes ago, and she distracted you for me." Wardell explained to me.
I nodded my head. "Well let me go thank her." I said walking over to her.
"So Wardell said you had a lot to do with this." I mentioned as she held her hands behind her back in a innocent way.
She shrugged with a smirk on her face. "I may have and I may have not." She said before busting out laughing.
I laughed with her. "Thank you so much!" I said pulling her into a hug.
"You're welcome big sis. I feel bad for you though." She stated making me give her a confused look.
"Why?" I questioned with my eyebrow raised.
"You're gonna have to live with my dorky brother for the rest of your life." She replied back making us both laugh.
She's right I will have to live with her dorky brother for the rest of my life but I think I can handle him.
With both of our basketball careers going crazy you never know what could happen.
I mean if it ain't about the ball there's gonna be a serious problem on our hands.
THE END!
