July 15, 1998...
It was a typical summer day in Scotland, with a temperature of 63°F. For many locals, this was considered a hot day, as they were accustomed to much colder temperatures. However, for tourists visiting from warmer climates, the weather was still chilly.
Despite the cooler weather, the locals were making the most of the sunshine. Families were having picnics in the park, children were playing on the swings, and couples were strolling along the riverbank. So, even though Scotland's summer weather may sound cold to some people, it's all about perspective. For those who live in warmer places, 63°F may be considered hot, and for those who call Scotland home, it's just another beautiful summer day.
Shellington, Kevin, and Eddie grew up together in the same neighborhood and went to the same schools. Now, they were all grown up and had just graduated from high school.
Shellington was still wearing his rose gold square eyeglasses but had changed his wardrobe a bit. He was now wearing a Super Mario Brothers 3 T-shirt, plain baby blue drawstring shorts, and deadstock velcro slingback slide sportswear sandals.
Kevin, on the other hand, was wearing his rounded Ottoto Waterloo glasses but had a new Ninja Turtles Classic T-Shirt, 179 Pipes Shorts 14', and white socks with red Reebok shoes.
Eddie was wearing an Away Soccer Jersey Football Shirt, mustard yellow shorts, and gray socks with Reebok NPC Insignia Patent sneakers.
The three of them were on their way to Summer's house. They hadn't seen her in over a week and they were getting worried. It was summer break for the Class of '98 and they had all graduated with their high school diplomas.
As they walked down the street, they talked about their plans for the summer. They were all excited to start their new lives as adults and were looking forward to all the adventures that awaited them. When they arrived at Summer's house, they found her sitting on the front porch, looking out at the street, wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans with her hair up in a ponytail. She looked sad.
"Hey, guys," she said. "I'm so glad you came over."
"What's wrong?" Shellington said. "You said you need to talk to us about something important?"
They all sat down on the porch, they wanted to know what was the matter.
"We're moving to a different hospital due to my Leukemia." Said Summer
Three of the young men stood there, shocked as Shellington's Heart sake and the pit of his stomach sake along with the heart and started quivering inside of his body, a drop of sweat started rolling down the side of his face as it when white as a sheet,
"What..." Shellington quivered
"Leukemia," The Cat started "My Mum died from Lung Cancer due to smoking two years ago, but she had a heart of gold. Dad took it very hard after my mother died, it was just the two of us vs. the world, and now, just this last week, I Haven't felt very good, So my Dad and I went to the doctor and it...it turned out...it's not the flu that I thought, they did some tests and diagnosed me with Leukemia and...the doctor said that they suggest that we go to a special hospital in Glasgow."
Shellington, Kevin, and Eddie couldn't believe that Summer had Leukemia. Shellington thought about it for a moment and thought that Summer's Cancer was the same as Clair's,
"Can it get removed?" Shellington asked, "I mean, Clair had Cancer in the heart and I read that the Cancer she has can get removed."
Summer pinched the bridge of his nose as Kevin faced palmed along Eddie looked at Shellington with a serious look,
