I wonder why my parents never told us that yesterday is what should happen on birthdays. Oh yeah, they never loved me enough to tell me.
I opened up my photos in my phone and ficked through them until I found a nice picture of Rinda. She looked really happy.
"Happy seventeenth, R1." I smiled to the picture then kissed the screen. There isn't a day where I don't think about her.If she were still alive, I wonder what she'd think of the club. If Haruhi were a biological boy, I think he'd be Rinda's type but she was never interested in boys or dating.
I wasn't either, I just loved having fun whereas she would rather patiently wait for the right one. The diffences I can think of, between our relationship and the Hitachiin's are that we actually wanted to be noticed.
We were forcefully shut off from the world other than school so we loved all the attention we got. That and we were a little easier to tell apart.
It wasn't super simple but if you looked close enough, you could tell.
The same morning, walking through the corridors, I saw Luke on his own, leaning on a pillar.
I kindly waved to him and called his name but his response wasn't as cheerful. He only gave me a sideways glance like we'd never even met.
I thought that he didn't recognise me because it's early in the morning and barely anyone here, I'm guessing, is even a quarter awake.
"Did you enjoy yesterday, Risa?" Haruhi asked from behind me in geography class.
"Yes I did. Thanks again for the gloves." I smiled cheerfully. I really loved them, I even had them in my school bag with me because I couldn't get over how amazing they looked."I saw them and thought of you. I know you like that sort of stuff." She smiled, one eye on me, the other on her work.
"Let me know if there's anything you want for your birthday.""Please don't get me anything." She assured. "Besides, my birthday is months away."
"Why not? You gave me something. There's got to be something you have your eye on.""Really, I'm fine." She chuckled.
"I could get you a date with Tamaki-senpai." I sang, a mischievous smirk tugging at my lips. She immediately flushed a deep red color and stopped writing. That just confirmed how she felt."W-Why would you do that?" She asked nervously.
"I've seen the way you look at him." I grinned. "All dreamily and longing."
"Shut up..."
"You like him." I laughed.
"I don't..."
"Yeah, you do. It's written all over your face."
"I don't, I swear."
"Fine, deny it all you like. I'm not as stupid as I look." I gave one final smirk and turned back to the front of the room.It doesn't exactly take a detective to know that they have a thing for each other.
At the club, Luke didn't come like he always did. Perhaps he had other plans with his new boyfriend, haha.
"How's the wonderful world of seventeen?" Hikaru teased as he took a place next to me on the couch.
"Like any other day. But thanks again for the play station." I smiled and scooted a little closer to him."I couldn't get any games for you though. Sorry." He shrugged. "Kinda pointless, I know."
"Eh, its worth the wait." I smiled and gently pecked his cheek. "Thanks.""N-No problem." He stuttered adorably and a light shade of pink dusted his cheeks. I love it when he's nervous.
