Chapter 3- Steph

Steph's Pov.

As I woke up I felt arms wrapped around my waist tightly. I sniffed the air and recognized the scent instantly in more ways then one! Oh shit oh shit I yelled in my head how in the hell did I not realize she was one of them! I rolled over to look at her beautiful face. "I'm sorry," I whispered before slipping out of her grasp and replacing myself with a body pillow.

Once I got home I walked into the kitchen and stopped. My grandma was glaring at me "When your grandpa finds out he is going to be so angry, don't even try to deny it I can smell her on you!" She growled her eyes glowing.

"Grandma I'm sorry please don't tell him I had no idea they were one of then till this morning, I couldn't even smell them!" I started tearing up. She looked at me with sympathy her eyes stopped glowing and she wrapped me in a hug.

"There is a lot you don't know, but do you even realize who she was?" I shook me my head no.

"She is Heather Brooks the rightful alpha of the Shadow Pack, eldest daughter of Darius and River Brook's 3 children. It's Heather, her twin brother Adam, and their little sister Bailey who is 16."

"Oh" Is all I said taking it in.

"About a year ago Darius and River were found dead in neutral territory and we were blamed by the pack. Of course we didn't River use to be one your mothers best friend. Heather then found out her mother was a witch and she was devastated by their deaths and handed it over to their cousin Vanessa."

"That explains why Vanessa is such a bitch!" I growled causing my grandma to glare at me "sorry," I whimpered my grandma is not somebody you want to mess around with.

"There is something not good about Vanessa and I really wish Heather would become alpha were she belongs! If you were to see here in wolf form you would be amazed she is pure white with those piercing blue eyes and she is as big as you with great skills!" My grandma told me.

"But you need to stay away from them! If the Brooks are friendly or not Vanessa is not somebody to trust! She has been sending small attack parties of rouges! I know it's her she has always hated us ever since she found out her dad was River Pack! Plus you are to be alpha once your grandfather returns and it will just not be safe!" My grandma made sure to get the point across.

I just looked down at me feet, I knew she was right. Somebody would get hurt. I couldn't bare hurting her worse then what she already hurts after loosing her parents I know how it feels. That's the reason I came back my dad died and I don't remember my mother much she left when I was 8.

We were interrupted by a knock at the front door. I raised my brow at my grandma and she shrugged. I went over and answered the door. A older woman with grey curly hair and big glasses stood there two little girls standing behind her and a baby seat next to her.

"Uhm may I help you?" I asked the woman.

"I am Sherry Edwards with the adoption agency. This is Sapphire she pointed at the oldest of the three." Sapphire had long brown hair with the most amazing blue/green eyes, she was pretty.

"This is Zoey" she pointed at the second oldest child with chubby cheeks blonde hair that sits on her shoulders and grey/blue eyes.

"Then there is the baby who is 4 weeks old and nameless." I looked in on a adorable baby with blue eyes and brown hair.

"Okay?" I asked still confused.

"Their mother Sarah recently died after giving birth to the baby and you Ms. Powell were the one they were left too." The woman exclaimed not even caring if she upset the children.

"Sarah who?" My grandma asked from behind me. I don't know any Sarah's that would leave her children with me!

"Sarah Andrews, it says here she used to be your nanny, here she left you this letter." The woman handed me a letter.

I opened it and read it.

[ Dear Stephy Bear,

I know it's been along time but I still think about you often. I was devastated when your father took you away after catching me with your mother I'm so sorry I didn't mean to fall in love with her, she was my best friend. I hope with all my heart you can forgive both of us. Anyways back to the reason for this letter. As you know if your reading this I passed away, I knew I wouldn't survive it was me or the baby and I couldn't kill an innocent life. I left them to you they have no family and I know this is sudden but please think about it. I left you with the chance to name the baby and if you've noticed I took your advice and named my first child Sapphire like we use to talk about. If you do not except them, which I'd understand if you didn't, I would ask of you to make sure they alright and find a good home.

I felt tears swell in my eyes as I handed the letter to my grandma and I walked over to the children. They were filthy their clothes ripped and they had been crying. I knelt down and cupped Sapphires face in my hand and looked over at Zoey. She looked exactly like her mom. I turned towards the baby who looked up smiling and laughing.

"Hey there beautiful," I said as she grabbed my finger.

"She can't! She is only 18, she has so much on her plate right now it'd be impossible!" My grandma exclaimed!

"No!" I said in my alphas voice standing tall. "Sarah was like my other mother to me no matter what happened between her and my actually mom I will not let her children be tossed around in foster care! I will take them!" My grandma groaned walking back into the house muttering to herself.

Sherry smiled and said "okay let's go inside and sign these papers and they are all yours!"

"First of all I need you to name this baby then sign here and here and here." Sherry told me.

I looked at the baby my grandma was now holding while Sapphire sat between us and I held Zoey. "Koral!" I said looking at the baby.

"Are you sure? K.O.R.A.L.?" She spelled out to me.

"Yes little Koral" I smiled and so did my grandma. Maybe she will warm up to the idea quicker then planned she always want to be a grandma and with me being gay she thought it would never happen! I signed the papers and she left. I looked at the kids and smiled taking them into the bathroom. While my grandma bathed Koral I bathed the two girls who haven't said anything.

Finally Sapphire spoke "are you going to be our new mommy?" I was in shock for a second before answering.

"Yes, I guess I am but you don't have to call me mom if you don't want to you can call me Steph and you need to know your mom loved you with all her heart and she wanted me to make sure you guys were safe at all times!" I babbled on. Sapphire smiled at my craziness.

"How old are you girls?" I asked

"I'm six years old!" Sapphire said proudly.

"I am fouurr!" Zoey announced I'm the most adorable voice I have ever heard!

After their bath I got them dressed in the only change of clothes they had and rounded all three of them up in my car. Before I left my grandma came up taking my face in her hands while placing a kiss on my forehead. "I'm so proud of you, your so brave, stupid, but brave" and with that she left me standing there.
