VIOLIN'S POV~

Sunday. The second day. Today I'm supposed to go over to Samantha's. We met up at the school and she drove to her house. We both walked in and a man offered to take my jacket. I respectfully declined him as Samantha gave him her's.

No with Nader she acts like a bitch. She's freakin' rich!

I followed Samantha upstairs to her room and my jaw dropped. She had a bedroom almost as big as the school gym. And considering our school loves to focus on sports rather than academics, that's saying a lot.

"Damn," I whispered.

"Yeah. You think this is big, you should see the master bedroom my parents have."

"This isn't a master size!?"

"Not even close. Although, there really is too much space and my parents never realized that."

"Speaking of which, where are Margaret and Donald this afternoon?"

"They're at work. Like usual."

"On a Sunday?!"

"Yep. They act like they're married to their jobs more than each other."

"So you hardly see them?"

"Not really. But I have the staff to talk to."

"Oh yeah. You're an only child aren't you?"

"Yep. Honestly. My parents could care less what I do or how I act. As long as I'm alive and do nothing scandalous to ruin my father's company, they don't care."

"Is that why you bully people?"

"I guess. At school, I'm considered the "queen bee," but at home in just another person. I can't stand the fact you have a dad who cares so much so I tried to ruin you, but he just cares about you more now then ever."

"You'd be surprised if I told you why."

"Huh?"

"You see, I may be adopted but my dad still thinks of me as if I was his own. One day when I was about eight, I was training with Trunks and Goten and some alien came down to earth. We thought she was a friend, but she started attacking us with all she had.

"My dad and the others showed up right as she tossed us three to the ground. She got into a fight with all three of us's dads and Goten's brother and she still was powerful enough to hurt them.

"She was about to send a blast at Trunk's little sister and our friend Marron who happened to be watching us train in the beginning when I flew over and took the blast myself. I was losing life and I noticed my dad snap and turn around and almost finish her before she escaped.

"He came over to me at the last minute when I was closing my eyes. I could sense his heart breaking as I took my last breath and my life ended."

"If that story is true, then how are you here today," she asked as she sat beside me on her bed.

"There are these things called the dragonballs and if you gather all seven of them, you can make almost any wish you want. Bringing people back to life is one of the things you can wish for.

"My dad and all our friends searched for the dragonballs and after a few days, they wished me back. Since that day, my dad was always more protective over me. He doesn't show it on his sleeve, but through some of the actions he does, I know he would never give me up like my real parents did. And if they ever showed up and wanted me back, I know he wouldn't let them take me away."

"Wow. I wish my dad was as cool as yours," I saw her look at her feet and put a hand on her shoulder."

"I'm sure he'll come around. And push comes to shove, I'm still here for the next two weeks. And who knows, maybe the differences between us have already started to go away. Eh, Samantha?"

"Sam."

"Humna?"

"Samantha is too long. Call me Sam."

"In that case, you can call me Vi."

"Vi huh? Don't your friends call you Viola?"

"Yes, but I hate it and I'm letting you be the only one to call me Vi."

"Thanks Vi."

"Anytime Sam. Well, I'll be off then. It's almost six. And I don't want to miss dinner. Last time I was late, my dad made me train for thirty minutes before I got my dinner. And it was cold by the time I finally ate it."

"See you at school tomorrow."

"Later!"

I left her house and got home right on time. My dad gave me a look and I nodded. I sat down with Popo and we started to eat some chicken and rice with stir fried vegetables. One of my favorites! By the time I was going to bed that night I heard a knock on my door and Dende came in.

"How did it go? Did she give you a hard time?"

"Who? Sam? No. I think we got a bit closer today."

"Sam? Since when are you on a nickname basis with her?"

"Since today. She's gonna start calling me Vi and I call her Sam in return."

"Well I'm glad you two are starting to get along. I hate having to worry about what will happen to you."

"I'm just that awesome that you have to worry. But there is really no need to. Do you know how badass I am? I can handle myself quite well actually."

"Well I can second that," he said with a chuckle. "I'm glad these problems will start dying down."

"Hopefully," I added with a sigh. Dende walked closer and wrapped me in a hug.

"Don't worry. I know things will get better for you. I have complete faith and confidence in you."

"Thanks... My Little Cute Slug."

"Not that again??"

"Oh yes!"

"Why you little... fine," he sighed. "I guess there is no helping it huh?"

"Not at all." I leaned up a bit and gave him a small kiss before pulling away and resting my head on his shoulder. I felt him start stroking his fingers through my jet black hair and I smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too Violin. But mark my words, I will find a name to make you upset."

"Whatever you say Cute Slug. Whatever you say." He lightly kissed my forehead before leaving my room and going back to business as usual. I smiled to myself before collapsing into bed and drifting off to sleep.
