the lunch room was crowded with chattering students whose voices bounced off the walls and floor of the cafeteria and made their way to lukes ear. he scanned the lunch room looking for an empty place to sit and eat his lunch going unnoticed, but so far he was failing.

a hand on his shoulder made him snap his gaze away from the hungry students to the face which the hand belonged to.

"hello," said a curly haired boy whose hand was still on the tall boys shoulder. "im ashton," ashton removed his hand. "and you are?"

"luke, im new here," luke spoke, cursing himself for adding the unneeded information.

"ah, I could tell,"

"how could you-"

"not important. follow me over here and we can wait for calum."

calum? this was more names than he expected to learn on the first day. luke followed ashton to a table near one of the windows which looked out onto the football field and took a seat on the stool. not long after they sat down and ashton asked him about where he moved from (sydney, australia) and if he liked or played any sports (football, which he learned was called soccer here) that a blue tray was set down next to ashton as a tall, tan, curly, black haired boy sat down in the empty seat next to him.

"hi," he smiled. "im calum and you are?"

"luke," ashton said before luke could get to it. the hazel eyed boy looked at luke and apologized then luke nodded his head and said, "yeah im luke."

"well hello luke," calum said as he unwrapped his utensils from the flimsy plastic wrapping.

throughout lunch luke noticed ashton and calum being really close and touchy to one another which made luke think if they were related or something, which he regrettably asked towards the end of lunch when ashton had his head resting on calums shoulder as he scrolled through his phone.

"are you guys like, related or something?" luke asked, looking at ashtons head on the tanned boys shoulder. ashton let out a giggle and calum snorted, dropping his fork in his salad and laughed.

"noooooo," ashton giggled, "calum here," ashton shoved calums shoulder, almost making him topple off the stool which he was sitting on which caused his laughter to stop, "and I are dating."

with those words, calum latched his arms around ashtons waist and smushed his cheek against ashtons, a cheeky smile plastered on his face.

"o-oh, uh, s-sorry, I didn't kn-" luke began.

"no its alright, you're a newbie, you would've found out sooner or later, there's a lot of us here." calum gestured to the students which made luke let out a sigh of relief.

"thank god, I thought i'd get made fun of if I ever came out here," luke spoke.

lukes words made both calum and ashtons faces light up, "you're gay?" calum asked.

"no, bi," luke shyly admitted.

"fuck yea," calum reached across the table to highfive the blonde boy and ashton did the same.

"you're one of us,"
