(HAYES POV)

Today is the first day of eighth grade. I'm not excited, I'm mean why should I be? I already have great friends and an amazing girlfriend. Plus, I'm the most popular guy in school.
"Hayes! Your girlfriends here!" My mom yelled from downstairs.
"Okay! I'll be down in a minuet!" I shouted.
Me and my girlfriend walk to school everyday together. Her name is Harvey, and she's the most popular girl in school. I treat her like my princess but she doesn't treat me the same. I don't really care I guess. I mean I get to show her off and make the other guys jealous. I love her a lot but I haven't seen her all summer. Everyone says that she has changed a lot. I walked down the stairs and was engulfed in a huge passionate hug.
"I missed you so much!" She said into my shirt.
Shes never said that to me.
"I-I missed you too." I hugged back.
When she released and stepped back, I was amazed. She usually wore short skirts and crop tops, I really didn't like that, it made her look trashy. She was wearing bleached skinny jeans and a mint high necked top. Her hair was tied up in a high pony tail. She never wore her hair up, because last year she told me that it made her look ugly. Which wasn't true, she looked really pretty.
"You wanna go now or are you just gonna stand there." She laughed.
"Uh, o-okay." I took her hand and we walked out the door.
"So how was your summer?" She asked looking into my eyes.
"Normal, yours?" I laughed.
"Pretty life changing, we went to Africa and helped out the poor families. The day we got there I thought that it was going to be so boring and hot and it was going to mess up my makeup." She laughed. We slowly crossed the road her hand in mine.
"But that trip, it changed my whole outlook on life. I mean I feel one million times better about myself. I also grew stronger with my family. I missed you so much." She said looking into my eyes.
"Wow, I-I think I love you." I turned red and looked at the ground.
"But I think I love you more." She smiled.
We walked the rest of the way talking and laughing. When we got to school we found our group of friends and talked until the bell rang. As I was walking inside, I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned to see a girl, I could tell that she was new. She had long brown hair that was put in braids and really blue eyes. She looked shy, and very nervous.
"Excuse me, can you show me to the office, I'm new here." She asked shyly.
I'm not going to lie, she was very pretty.
"Uh, yeah I guess."
Wow Hayes, you sound like a nice guy.
As we walked I stared at her, it wasn't on purpose it's just that she looked scared, really scared.
She glanced at me and smiled.
"So what's uh, your name." She asked politely.
"My names Hayes uh, what's yours?" I asked awkwardly.
"I'm Sadie." She smiled.
"Nice to meet you Sadie. You know, you don't have to be scared."
"It's that noticeable." She turned red.
"Don't worry, you can hang with me." I smiled. We turned the corner and went into the double doors.
"Here's the office! Are you going to be fine from here?" I asked.
"Yeah! I'll be fine!" She said.
"Okay, I'll see you around then." I said.
"Okay! Bye!" She flashed a radiant smile at me and I turned and headed to my home room.
Wow, she was really pretty. Hayes, don't think that! You have a girlfriend! Ugh.
