(SADIES POV)
"I thought that I've been hurt before.
But no ones ever left me quite this sore.
Your words cut deeper than a knife.
Now I need someone to breathe me back to life-I wake up and hit the snooze button on my phone. I sit up on my mattress and stretch. I get up and step over all the boxes and make my way to my bathroom. I moved to North Carolina from San Diego because of my dads job transfer. It was hard but at the same time I was ready for a change. I've lived in the same house for thirteen years, went to the same school since preschool, seen the same people everyday. I've had a great life, great parents, great everything. My brothers eighteen and in the army but he's doing fine. I have over one hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube because I sing. I guess that isn't a lot but still I worked hard for it. Today is my first day of school, and I'm really scared. Mostly because I've never started school somewhere new before. I quickly wash my face and apply eyeliner and mascara. I usually don't put eyeliner on but I want to make myself look okay. After that I braid my hair on both sides and make them messy. Then I run to my room and grab my favorite gray sweatshirt and some black leggings and slip on my red converse.
"Honey! Your going to be late! Let's go!" My mom yells. She always has to be on time because if she's not she will get really mad because 'everything's out of place' she says. I grab my bag and run downstairs.
"Here." She says as she shoves and granola bar at me.
"Eat it on your way to school." She says as she bolts upstairs.
"I'm leaving, I love you!" I scream as I head towards the front door.
"Okay bye girly! I'll see you in approximately six hours!" She yells.
Okay that "approximately six hours" thing was a little much.
I laugh as I get to the sidewalk. It's really cloudy and it looks like it's going to rain. I pull out my phone and check my Twitter.
@sadierichards
OMG!!! I love your voice!!!! Do a cover of Lay Me Down pleaseeeee!!
@shawnsmuffin
I tweet back saying that I will and I follow her. Seconds later I get a tweet back from her and her reaction is priceless. It's cute to watch their reactions when I follow them. I cross the street and enter big black iron gates. I look up at the building and it overwhelms me. It's a huge brick building with windows everywhere. Then my thoughts get interrupted by a tap on the shoulder. I slowly turn to see a girl whose about eleven standing there, looking up at me.
"A-are you Sadie Richards?" She almost squealed.
"I am." I say confidently.
"Wow! I love you so much!" She yelled and hugged me. I hugged her back.
"Can I get a picture?" She asked.
"Yeah." I say as I take out my phone and take numerous selfies with her.
"Thank you!" She says as she walks over to her group of friends.
I continue walking through the sea of people and suddenly the bell rings and everyone starts to file inside. I don't know where I'm going or what my schedule is. I scan the courtyard to find the person closest to me. I see a boy my age walking behind a group of football guys. I run up to him and lightly tap his shoulder. He turns and I almost choke.
That's Hayes Grier, oh my god.
"Excuse me, can you show me to the office, I'm new here." I try to say confidently but fail.
"Uh, yeah I guess." He said arrogantly.
As we walked I felt him staring at me. I turned and smiled at him and he looked at the ground.
"So what's, uh your name?" I asked trying to make it look like I have no idea who he is.
"My names Hayes uh, what's yours?" He asked looking intently into my eyes
"I'm Sadie." I smiled.
"Nice to meet you Sadie. You know, you don't have to be scared."
"It's that noticeable." I felt myself turn red.
"Don't worry, you can hang with me." He smiled. We turned the corner and went into a pair of double doors.
"Here's the office! Are you going to be fine from here?" He politely asked.
"Yeah! I'll be fine!" I said.
"Okay, I'll see you around then." He said.
"Okay! Bye!" I smiled at him and approached the front desk.
I was just invited to hang out with Hayes Grier. HE GOES TO MY SCHOOL!
As I got my schedule I couldn't stop thinking about what this upcoming year will hold.
