Elise's POV
I really have to say, having my sister make me her little helper was not something I was looking forward to at all. This was her wedding I got that, trust me she wouldn't let me forget it. Still she was going all out of the fairytale part of it. I mean she even has her new fiancee rent out a castle just so she could keep with her dream from when she was seven. I swear I don't know where she found him but he literally does whatever she wants him to do.
Now here I am in a taxi with my grandparents on our way to said Castle. Of course I had to come with them because my grandmother didn't give me enough guilt about not only being single but not giving her grandbabies. Trust me I had heard that more than I ever wanted to. My grandfather on the other hand would just smile and kiss my head telling me that I had as much time as I needed and not to rush into anything. Thank god for grandpa! I had on person on my side at least. Just then I feel the car stop, I look outside the taxi window and see a beautiful Scottish castle. Poor Dave I could only imagine what he had to pay for a place like this.
We got out of the car and the nice taxi driver did take our stuff and start up to the giant doors. I however decided to get a better look of the castle on the outside. I started to look up and couldn't help but admire it. Just then I looked into a window and I saw a man staring back at me. From what I could tell he was either right at my age or a bit older than me. Then again I am literally from the outside looking in.
"Elise! Come on it looks like its about to storm." my grandma calls out to me.
I turn and look at her then back to the window the man was at but when I look back the man is no longer there. What? How was that possible? I barely looked away and now he was gone? I just shrugged it off. Probably jet lag right? I went up to the doors with my grandparents as an older Scottish gentleman answered the door.
"Ah I was wondering when ya would get here, name's Grady and I'm the caretaker of this fine castle." the man says with a thick accent.
"Nice to meet you Grady, I am Charles this is my wife Abigale and our granddaughter Elise." Grandpa says as he introduces us to the man.
"Right, well lets get inside. Nasty piece of weather heading our way." he says as we walk into the amazing foyer.
Seriously there wasn't much you couldn't like about this place. All of it was so beautiful and well cared for. Mr. Grady did his job wonderfully. I walked in a bit further and couldn't help but look around. This place was truly amazing.
"Ya like the place lass?" Grady asks me.
"It's so beautiful, no wonder my sister decided to have her wedding here." I say as I look to him.
"Your not the one getting married?" he asks a little confused.
"Married? ha! she doesn't even have a boyfriend." my Grandma tells Grady as my Grandpa just looks over at her and rolls his eyes.
"She's young, got time lass no worries there." Grady says as he starts to show us to the stairs. "I'll take you to your rooms tonight, tomorrow after a good breakfast I'll give you the full tour."
We all nod at him as we start our adventure up the castle stairs. I couldn't help but touch the stone walls. I can only imagine all the history that was held within them. Just as we got to the top Grady flipped on a switch lighting the hallway.
"I'll be sure to leave this on for ya, just in case." Grady says as he winks at me.
We continue to walk forward as we reach the first door, Grady then opens the door and smiles at me.
"This will be your room young miss. Get some rest there is a lot to be seen tomorrow." Grady says as I walk into the room.
This room was amazing much like the rest of the place. A big four post bed lay in the middle, I ran to the bed and couldn't help but smile. Much of this place probably hasn't changed at all. I turned back to Grady and my grandparents and smiled at them letting them know I was happy with this room. Grady smiled and nodded closing the door for me. I grabbed my bag and put it on the bed. I decided to change quickly into my night clothes and read a little before bed. It was literally my job to read. I was a publisher and usually was able to publish a few good books mostly romance novels.
As I finished changing I put my bag on the ground and grabbed my book. With my long white silk night gown on I climbed into bed and started to read the book. Most of the writers I worked with were wonderful but there was always one who wrote a little too much for my taste but then again that was just me. Before I even know it I feel my eyes slowly close and I drift off to sleep.
Errol's POV
I have been roaming my home for over 350 years waiting for my love, I knew I would find her somehow some way but even after all this time I still hand no answers. Just as I go to her old room I see a light coming from inside of it. What is the meaning of this?! Grady knows not let anyone in her room. I run through the castle when I finally find him coming back up the stairs.
"What do ya think yer doing lettin' someone into my wife's room." I yell at him as he looks at me scared half to death.
"It's her sir! I swear it! Go look for yourself." Grady tries to explain to me.
What was that old fool talking about? I have no idea but I decided to follow his advice and I went to the room and opened the door. I looked inside and there to my shocking eyes and heart there on the bed was Brighid. I knew it was her! It had to be. I went to the bed and looked down upon her. Everything the same. Her long red hair, the freckles upon her face. I still remember her and I knew she had finally returned to me. I couldn't help but become excited. Then I looked down to see a book in her hands. I carefully picked it up and read the title "A Love For All The Ages" is what it read.
"You want romance lass?" I ask her knowing she wouldn't answer she was too far asleep for that.
I took the book and put it down on the table beside the bed. I turn back to her and a part of me can't help myself I have waited so long I lean down and place my lips upon hers. I feel her lips move beneath mine and for a brief moment my head goes back to our first kiss. The one I surprised her with the night before our wedding. I pull away and look down to find her still sleeping. I retreat out of the room and back to Grady.
"Are you sure it is her? Has she stated that she is Brighid?" I ask him.
"No sir, I believe she be a reincarnation as they call em. Still you can't deny every part of her is the same." Grady says looking back to the room.
"Aye, all is the same. Keep an eye on her. She'll remember who she is." I say as I go back to the door just in time to see her jostle in her bed.
Curious to know what is the matter I go back to her side. I watch as she turns back over to the side of the bed where I am. Is she having a nightmare? Before I have a chance to make my leave she reaches out to me and takes my hand. I am shocked that she did this but I hold her hand in mine. I watch her as she barely opens her eyes.
"Are you a dream?" she asks groggily.
I look over to Grady for advice and I seem him nod his head. Of course the old fool would tell me to go along with it.
"Aye lass, I'm no more than a dream." I tell her as she then pulls me into the bed with her.
"Please don't leave me, I hate being alone all the time." she tells me as I lay down beside her.
I can feel the heat coming from her body. I notice that she comes closer to me and lays he head down upon my chest. I look back to Grady wide eyed and about to laugh his arse off. I am going to get him.
"Sleep now Lass, no fears will harm ya tonight." I tell her as I run my hand through her hair just I use to with Brighid.
The next morning I can sense the sunlight on my eyes. I open them and quickly turn away from the light. I look over and see the woman still asleep upon me. For a moment I forget where I am though. This has to be Brighid. I know it. Still I can't risk her getting upset over that. I slowly move her to her side and get out of bed, leaving her sleeping in the room. She had finally returned to me.
