Elise's POV
I followed Errol out of the room and couldn't really tell what he was thinking or feeling and that is what scared me most. He finally stopped and started to pace the hall that we were standing in. Tired of the annoying silence between us I decided to speak up.
"Errol? What's the matter? Do you know Dave from somewhere?" I ask him as I place my hand on his shoulder and he stops moving.
"I know his face, yet I can't remember his name or past. I know it doesn't make any sense Elise but believe me when I say that Dave is bad news." Errol tells me as he takes me in his arms and holds me tight. "I cannot lose you again, I just found ya."
A part of me felt really warm by what he said and then the other part of me really wanted to know if what Errol said was true. Was Dave hiding something? Could he be a reincarnation of someone just like I was? Apparently Errol could sense my frustration and lifted my head to look at him.
"I promise ya as long as I am by your side no harm will come to ya." he tells me as he leans in and kisses me.
"Ahem, sorry to break up the little romantic kiss but when did you go from boyfriend to fiancee?" Grandma asks as she walks forward with the ugliest flowers I have ever seen in her hand.
"I told yer husband I intended to marry her. Why has that offended you ma'am?" Errol asks in a bit of a shock.
"She can still refuse you, after all I don't want someone who yells at my granddaughter marrying the other one." Grandma says looking between Errol and I.
All the sudden I feel a blast of emotion run through my body and I push past Errol and stand tall right in front of Grandma. This was something I had never done before and to be honest I wasn't sure that was a good thing or not?
"I would marry Errol any day! Don't think you can make my decisions for me. If I were you I would watch my sister and her betrothed more than myself and my own." the words fly out of my mouth before ever having a chance to filter what I just said.
"Elise, what in the world brought this on? You have never spoken to me in such a way." Grandma tells me and I can tell she is becoming more and more angry.
"Maybe it's time, all you do is force things down my throat. Afterall isn't it you who was always so disappointed I was single? Now I have someone and I don't plan on leaving him no matter what you or anyone else says." I say as I turn back to Errol and he embraces me. "This is where I belong."
Grandma looks us up and down. Almost as if she is trying to find some flaw between the two of us but I wouldn't let her. Errol held onto me tighter just as Dave and my sister came up and you could tell there was tension in the air.
"Something the matter?" Dave asks looking at the scene before him.
"Nothing, just wanted Elise's opinion on the flowers." Grandma says turning their way and looking at my sister. "You my dear will be the most beautiful bride I have ever seen. Not even Elise has your beauty."
Oh that was a low blow there Grandma! Has she been drinking again? Errol was about to move forward but I held him back and kept him with me. I knew she didn't mean it deep down, right now she was just angry that I was finally able to stand up for myself and for Errol.
"Grandma, how many drinks have you had today?" my sister asks her with a smile leading her down the hall with Dave following them.
Yeah Grandma was a bit of a drinker when she was stressed out. All the sudden I just got a bad feeling come over me. Looking forward I see Dave turn back and wink at me. Did he know something that I didn't? If so what in the world was he planning? Errol turned us the opposite was and we started walking and ended up back in the library.
"What happened to your grandmother? She has never been like that before." Errol says as he walks to the fireplace.
"She tends to drink when she is under stress, something tells me that was the result of a few drinks to many." I say with a shrug as I walk over to him.
"She lied, you will be a beautiful bride when we marry. An angel at that. One made just for me." Errol says as he turns to me and takes me in his arms. "What we have Elise will never end."
What we have? Is he saying that he loves me? I know I feel something very strong for him after all I did stand up for him and our relationship however crazy of one that we have its still ours and no one can pull us away from one another. I'm in love with Errol no matter how much I try to deny it I know that is the truth. So what if I was his first wife reincarnated that just meant we were meant to be much longer than the first time I was here...right?
"Elise? Are you alright lass?" Errol asks me as I look up at him and just kiss him.
"As long as I am by you I will be fine." I answer him as we sit down in front of the fireplace. "Something is wrong though Errol, what if Dave is planning something?"
Errol grunted not really knowing what to tell me. Holding me close the door to the library opened and Amanda as well as one of Dave's many best men came tumbling in kissing and all over one another. I put my hand over my mouth embarrassed by what I am seeing.
"Occupied." Errol calls out with a laugh.
Amanda quickly pushes the man off of her and looks our way. Completely flustered and not sure what to do she puts her hands over her face and runs out the door. The man stands up and quickly follows after her.
"Something never change." I say as I look to Errol.
"Let's not worry about them." Errol says as he leans forward and kisses me.
