The next morning... 6am

Touka had packed all of her items into her luggage and was prepared to leave.

She walked towards the main door but turned back and entered Kaneki's room.

She heaved a sigh of relief as he didn't wake up and sat down onto his bed.

Her hands went into his soft black silky hair and down to caress his face before leaning down to give him a kiss on the lips.

Her tears streamed down her cheeks as she gathered all of her determination and left the house. She decided she would have to stay at Rika's house until she had enough money to buy a new apartment.

---

Knock Knock.

"Nngh... Who's this, early in the morning? Touka?!"

Rika let Touka into her house and listened to her story without asking anything and stayed by her side.

---

Ringggg Ringggg!

Kaneki slammed his alarm clock button down and got up. After he finished his washing and dressing up, he entered the living room to find his mom sitting at the dining table.

"Mom? Where's breakfast? And where's Touka?" Kaneki asked he didn't see food on the table nor Touka.

"Touka's gone."

"What do you mean she's gone? Did she go to the market?" Kaneki asked, puzzled.

"Your dad must have said something to her."

Upon hearing that, he ran to her room and slammed open the door; shouting her name.

Touka wasn't there.

He looked around the room, hoping to find her in the toilet or something but found a note and a square box on the table instead.

'Don't look for me.' The note says.

Kaneki opened the square box and his eyes widened. Inside contained the necklace and engagement ring he bought for her.

He quickly picked up his phone and dialed his father.

"Hello?" The voice answered.

"What did you say to her?"
Kaneki started out talking normally.

"Hmm? I only told her to leave you, that's all." His father replied, calmly.

"She wouldn't leave just from you telling her that! She won't betray me!" Kaneki shouted into the phone.

"I told you she-"

Kaneki ended the call and threw his phone to the floor out of anger.

He looked for Touka for days without rest and didn't go for work.

He went her workplace, Ayato's school and everywhere he thought she would go but it was all in vain.

On the fourth night of searching without any results, he went back home and collapsed onto his bed. His clothes and documents were strewn all over his floor and bed but he didn't care. He only wanted Touka. That night, he cried to sleep without the warmth of her in his bed.

---

Kaneki wasn't the only one suffering. Touka was, too.

Ever since she left, she cried every day. Without him, she felt lonely, empty. Rika tried introducing Touka to other guys but she couldn't forget the feeling she had when she was with Kaneki. True love.

---

He had called and messaged Touka many times.

32 calls and 56 messages.

"Touka, where are you?"

"Do you have a place to stay? How about food?"

"Please reply me..."

"I miss you, please come back."

"I want to eat your home cooked meals. I miss going out on dates with you. I miss touching you. I miss everything. "

"Please, I'm begging you. Please call me or at least reply my messages."

"I want to hear your voice."

"I love you. Please come back."

His latest message was the last straw. She had been at home for the past month and decided she needed some time outside.

---

Touka was staring into space while sitting on a bench in town when a handsome guy came up to her.

"Hey, wanna have a drink with me? My treat."

Touka thought she wanted to drown out her feelings right now and went with him.

After he got Touka drunk, he brought her to an abandoned warehouse and tied her to a chair.

Touka moaned and opened her eyes, looking at the two people in front of her.

"Oh you're up? That's great."

"Anna.." Touka choked out, her throat dry.
