Bought [Kaneki x Touka] [Touken]

Kaneki looked at the box in his hand. "Touka said she doesn't like expensive stuff so I bought a cheaper one for her. To make up for last night."

Kaneki slid the engagement ring onto Touka's ring finger. Tears secreted at her eyes when she looked at it. "Kaneki..."

"It's something small to make up for last night. Sorry for troubling you bringing my drunk state back."

"N-No I can't accept this!" Touka tried to remove it but Kaneki stopped her and gazed into her eyes.

He showed her his ring as well. "I love you, Touka."

The tears slipped down her cheeks and she wiped them away. "I love you too, Kaneki.

He gave her a tight hug in which she returned.

Ding Dong.

"Oh my, dear. Why didn't you say that you were coming back?" They heard Kaneki's mom asking and they went out to the living room.

"There's no need to. Anyway I'll be staying for a week before going overseas again." He said as he removed his jacket, passing it to Mrs Kaneki.

"Welcome back, Dad." Kaneki greeted.

Dad?

Touka quickly bowed.

"Who are you and why are you in my house?" Kaneki's dad questioned.

Before Touka could even open her mouth, Kaneki stood in front of her.

"She's my girlfriend. If I may ask, please respect her."

Touka gulped as she felt the air tense between them.

"I'm taking a shower." Kaneki's dad just casually ignored his statement and went to his room.

Kaneki turned to Touka. "It's alright. He's like that. I'm planning to tell him about us after dinner and get him to accept you. You can just sit there and relax."

Touka nodded.

- After Dinner -

"Dad we need to talk." Kaneki announced over the dining table, catching everyone's attention.

"Go on." He rested his hands on the table, intertwining his fingers together.

Kaneki placed his hand over Touka's on her lap, sucked in a breath before he spoke.

"We are dating and we would like to receive your blessing, Dad." Kaneki stared straight into his dad's eyes.

"If she's from a well-known family, yes. If not, you know the answer."

"Touka isn't from a rich family but she is the person I love. Mom was not from a rich family either but you married her anyway, didn't you?"

"Your mom was different. I had to fight with my own parents to marry her. Do you want to do the same?" Dad raised his voice.

Touka's fingers tightened around Kaneki's, asking him to stop. He ignored her plea and continued on.

"I'm telling you I am willing to fight for her! Even if it's you!" Kaneki started to get irritated.

"You are not allowed to do that, young man!" So did the dad.

Kaneki stood up from his seat. "Why can't you understand?!"

Touka squeezed Kaneki's hand. He turned to her, kissed the back of her hand and smiled at her; signaling everything's okay. Dad and Mom watched as he did that.

"Anyway! I will not allow this to happen!" Dad stood up from his seat as well.

"The both of you sit down!" Mrs Kaneki shouted and they did so. Touka got a little scared; it was her first time seeing her angry.

She turned to her husband. "Dear, please understand that our son is serious about dating her. And that she's a really nice girl I assure you. I can tell because I've been with her for the past three months."

Dad murmured. "Three months is enough to decisive our gullible son."

"Dear! Will you stop treating our son as just a gullible guy? He's already matured and he knows what he's doing."

Dad just shut up.

Then she turned to her son. "Dear, please relax. Your dad is trying to protect you from ever having that feeling from Anna again."

Kaneki also shut up.

"U-Um can I say something?" Touka timidly asked.

Mrs Kaneki nodded, encouraging her to.

"I'm not sure about all this but all I know is I won't betray him because I love him."

"Touka-chan..." Kaneki felt touched by her words.

Dad stood up and went to his room.

I'll make her leave...

"Thanks mom. I was getting out of hand there." Kaneki said after a while. She patted him on the back.

"Sleep early tonight."

Kaneki nodded and brought Touka back to his room.

"Sorry Touka.. I couldn't get him to accept you."

"It's okay. You tried your best, I saw it." She cupped his cheeks and kissed him.

He wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled her hair, inhaling her scent.
