*Adam's pov

I walked the guys out and said goodbye shutting the door behind them. I turned back and saw Lexi curled up on the couch, her head against her knees. I bit my lip and walked over to her pulling her on my lap. "You alright?" I asked softly, my chin resting on her arm. She looked up at me and smiled a little, "actually yes, that was better than I was expecting and I learned something new about myself today" she said releasing her legs. "I was just thinking about it" she finished. "Oh yea, what's that?" I asked running my fingers through her now short hair. "I was think about why we haven't been... Ya know, in the time we've been dating. It's been about 7 months. I mean you've known me for a year and you already know more about me than most other people." She said getting quiet. I kissed her softly, "you know I'll wait, I told you, you call the shots baby" I chuckled. "I know" she sighed, "but I mean it just seems silly, especially after this morning" she said a blush creeping up her cheeks. I grinned, "baby it's nothing to worry about," I assured her kissing her lightly. "Come on let's get some lunch since breakfast clearly didn't happen" I laughed picking her up. She laughed loudly and wrapped her arms around me. "That's my girl" I said kissing her. I grabbed my keys and carried her to car.

We went to a little hole in wall diner, the kind no one knows about unless you live here. LA is fun like that, never know what you'll find when you explore. We got a table in the back, away from the windows. "Adam" she said as I pulled out her chair. "Yes baby?" I said taking my seat. "You are the most amazing man in the world, how did I possibly manage to get you to fall for me?" She asked. I laughed thinking she was kidding but she was serious. "Lex what are you thinking? You know all this, I make that clear daily." She shrugged, and looked to the front, it was swarmed with reporters, management must've released the video. Damn that was fast. "Alexis Marie Knight, you are the sweetest, funniest, strongest woman I've ever met. You've put up with my crap for months and still managed to fall for me. Me! I'm immature, annoying, loud, have horrible sleeping patterns, I mean honestly, you make me a better person." I said. She bit her lip nervously. "Adam it just seems forced all of a sudden." She sighed, "stay here a minute" I said getting up and walking out the front door.

"Seriously!" I yelled at the paparazzi surrounding the front of the restaurant. "Adam did your girlfriend really do that? Is she stable?" They shouted questions at me, it infuriated me. "Shut up!" I yelled. "Alexis is an amazing woman, she is not a murder, did you even listen to the interview from the label?! Leave her the hell alone!" I yelled. God my publicist was going to hate me for this. I continued yelling until I felt better. I went back inside a few minutes later and Lexi was gone. There was a note,

"Adam,

I'm sorry for this, I was going to do it in person but I can't. You've been amazing through all of this but I can't bear to ruin your career like this. I know this is hard now, but you'll forget about me and move on. Nothing lasts forever Adam, be happy. I love you Adam.

Lex xoxo"

It didn't make sense. I looked around how could she have gotten past me! I talked to the manager, he let her out the back. Shit, I mumbled and ran out and got in the car searching for her. She was not getting away this easily. She can't use my own lyrics to break up with me! I scanned the area nothing. I went right back to her apartment. I banged on the door calling for her. I could hear the tv on and wished I had a key. "Lexi please! Open up we need to talk!"

I must've sat out there for 10 hours. She wouldn't break, I sighed and stood up, "I love you Alexis, you are the best thing that's ever happened to me! I'm not giving up that easily!" I shouted and I knew she heard me. I got in the car and hit the steering wheel pissed, I had no idea what made her do this but I wasn't going to lose her.
