*Lexi's pov
One year later*
I dropped my bags in my room and fell on my bed. "Ugh the bed in Switzerland was so much more comfortable!" I groaned. Adam laughed as he crawled in next to me. "Ugh you're right" he said kissing my neck. I grinned, "Adam, I'm sorry for all the shit I've put you through and everything you've done to help me through, I'm sure you didn't plan on signing up for all of this when you started to date me." I said softly. "Lex, come on please cut that out, I'm not putting up with anything, you are amazing, you are my muse, my.. Er correction.. Our writing has never been better, I feel really good about this album and it's all because of you" he said kissing me again. "I love you Alexis, so much." I rolled my eyes going in to kiss him again when my phone rang. "Ugh I preferred the lack of reception in Switzerland." I said as I answered. "What Shawn? We've been home for like 5 minutes!" I said completely exhausted. "Yea sure I guess. Hang on," I told Shawn. "Babe, E wants an interview next week," I explained. "Ugh seriously? Fine" he groaned. "Okay Shawn, we're on vacation, remember you promised when we got back we could have a vacation before the voice started and before tour started, so goodbye, I'll talk to you next week" I said quickly and hung up tossing my phone. Adam smiled and kissed me.
"Adam?" I asked as I laid back down. "Yea baby? He asked caressing my back. "What are you thinking?" I asked looking him in the eyes. He kissed me, "I was thinking about the day we met. It feels like it was forever ago, we've been through a lot baby" he said looking at me. "You okay baby?" He asked. I stopped and thought, was I okay? Things were different in Switzerland everything was so laid back and easy but here it felt stressed, like we were walking on eggshells around each other. "Yea. Are we okay?" I asked curiously. "What do you mean?" "I mean I feel like we're walking on eggshells so we don't upset each other." I said. "You're right, Lex, I feel it too" he said. He stood up, "come on... Get up let's go" he said. "What, where?" I asked laughing. "Just come on," he said laughing. I followed him out the door and down the stairs, and running toward what I soon realized was the park. I raced him to swings. He pushed me a few times before getting a swing of his own.
It was fun and relaxing until flashes filled our eyes. Adam looked at me, "1, 2, 3" he mouthed and we jumped off the swings and took off running hand and hand. He smirked and grabbed my waist spinning me around. He kissed me hard and long as the flashes got closer and closer then surrounding us. But right then it didn't matter, acting childish and relaxing helped more than I could have dreamed. We pulled away and I smiled hugging him tightly. "I love you Adam" I whispered. "I love you too Lex" he whispered. We finally faced the cameras, and the questions exploded from them. "Are you still together? How's the CD coming? When's tour? Is Alexis going with you? Where is this going?" The questions made my head spin but Adam pulled me close, "of course we are, she's the love of my life. It's great we are almost finished with it, the songs are written they just need to be recorded, uh right now touring is a toss up for dates, my schedule is packed tight because of the voice so we a trying to work around it but the dates will be on the website so keep checking, yep you don't think I'd leave her here do you?" He laughed as he rambled off answers. "Where is what going?" He asked, "oh this?" He said right after realizing, "right now we're content just dating. With Lexi's past it's easier this way for now. She's calling the shots, and I'm just following her lead." He said laughing. "Alexis where is your relationship going? What do you want from it? What's it like spending all that time with the guys? What's the best part of being apart of the maroon 5 team?" They asked rapidly. "Uh I don't know hopefully eventually to marriage. I want what I have now, love and safety, it's crazy they are so much fun to be around and always cheer me up when I'm having a bad day. Uh the best part? Probably watching the song writing process, it is so confusing and jumbled and funny and it turns into these serious, caring songs and you just go really? How did that happen?" I said giggling some as I answered all of their questions.
"Alright guys, we're done here, I am taking my beautiful girlfriend, we are going to dinner, possibly meet up with the guys and then I am going to pick up a couple pints of ice cream and we are going to pig out and watch a movie if that's okay with you" he said picking me up and heading back toward the house. I laughed as he finally set me down, pushing me against the front door kissing me. "Come on let's change out of these gross sweats and go catch dinner" he said. I kissed him, "are the guys coming?" I asked as I unlocked the door. Adam kissed my neck, "not if I have anything to say about it" he laughed his hands on my waist.
I laughed and kicked the door shut and raced Adam upstairs. We laughed as we squeezed through the doorway and into the bedroom. My phone rang, "god it's like Shawn's ears ring when we're alone!" I groaned. "Hello?" I said trying to sound happy. "James!" I said smiling. "Yea uh we were going too. Sure but we are alone after dinner." I said sternly. James laughed and we hung up. We changed quickly and left to meet up with the guys. Dinner was fun, it's amazing that we could still want to hang out after spending a year together. "Okay so be honest with us Lexi, do you wanna marry this jerk?" Mickey laughed. "Wow thanks Mickey damn" Adam laughed and looked at me. "Right now, yes. If he asked me right now I'd probably say yes" I said blushing.
We finished dinner and were considering dessert when my phone rang. I looked at the caller id, "what Shawn come on we discussed this vacation thing earlier." I said getting aggravated. "What? Yea I'll tell them all, we're at dinner." I sighed and hung up. "So you have two songs left to record, guess what? you're doing it tonight because everything else is done and they want the album out at the premier of the voice" I sighed. They groaned and we paid and Adam dropped me off at my apartment. "Sorry baby, it shouldn't take us long we can still do the movie and ice cream thing" he said kissing me. I nodded, "I'll wait up babe. Call if you'll be late?" I asked, he nodded and kissed me again. I change into my pj's and curled up with a pint of ice cream and a movie. By midnight I sighed and went to bed.
Two weeks later*
"Adam come on, you'll be late!" I groaned. "Come on babe chill." He grinned. "Adam don't babe me, I'm working Shawn said we had to be as professional as possible" I said smiling as his arms slipped around my waist as we finally walked into the voice studio. "You go and I'll get you a coffee" I said kissing his cheek ignoring my own comment. He smirked and went to get ready.
"Hey Lexi!" Adam said waving at me as I sat in the audience, per his request. "Come here" he called. "I can't babe," I started. "Do it! Now!" He yelled laughing. I shook my head and he got up running out of the room and ran up the stairs to see me. The fans cheered as he made his way to me, "Lexi, my love, you are so gonna hate me but I don't care, I love you! And yes I am going to embarrass. Baby," "get on with it" Blake yelled and I laughed. "Shut up Shelton!" Adam said looking back at me. "Lexi you've been there for everything, and I've been there for you through everything and I always will. I love you so much baby.Will you marry me?" He asked. I stared shocked and nodded. He kissed me and slipped a ring on my finger. As soon as he stood up my phone rang. I answered, "really?! Don't bs me Shawn" I said excitedly. I nearly screamed and hung up kissing him. "30,000 copies babe" I whispered and he spun me around excitedly.
