Phil walked into school, laying low. He couldn't make it obvious that he was going through a breakup like this, especially to Chris and PJ, they thought he was still in a bloody relationship.

"Phil!" PJ yells from his locker. He and Chris were standing, sharing headphones. "Hey!" Phil's voice cracked.

"So prom right?!" Chris says looking at PJ with puppy dog eyes. Phil knew what they did after prom, and he didn't need to hear about it.

"Yeah it was great." Phil shoves his hands in his pockets. PJ pauses the music on his iPod and glances around. "Speaking of, where's Dan?"

Phil panics in his mind. Shit shit shit. "Uh..." Before he can get a word out PJ interjects. "Oh there he is, Hey Dan!"

Dan saunters over towards the group of boys. He wore skinny jeans, a black jacket, and black boots. "Hey guys, Hey you." Dan says sweetly. His kisses Phil on the cheek and puts an arm around him. Phil flusters and his face turns red.

"Wow Dan looking really nice, especially for the final stretch." Chris replies. Dan chuckles and shurgs his shoulders. His grip on Phil's waist tightens. "You know, its the last week. Gotta make it last!"

PJ puts his hand out and high fives Dan. "Amen," He glances at his watch. "Fuck, we better get going." Chris shrugs.

"We're only here for three and half more days, who cares?" Dan laughs. Phil forces out a chuckle.

"Babe, I love you, but I actually want to graduate." PJ says as he shuts his locker and shoves his headphones into his pocket.

Chris sighs. "Fine, let's go, see you guys later!" He and PJ lock hands and start to make their way back down the hall.

Phil pulls himself away from Dan. "What was that?!" He whispers, trying not to draw too much attention.

"What? I'm supposed to pretend to be your boyfriend right? So I did!" Dan puts a finger on Phil's chest. Phil glances down at his long finger and then back at his face.

"Maybe a less physical next time please?" He asks. The bell rings and he starts the sprint to class. Dan shakes his head and turns the other way. It was the last week of school, he wasn't in any hurry.

After a day of movies and a backpack pull of graded papers, Phil was ready to head home. As he walked towards the doors he saw the rain falling, it looked like a monsoon. "Great." He mutters to himself.

He unlocked his bike lock and put up his hood, preparing to brave the storm. He pulled out hesitantly into the pouring rain and started his journey. The rain pelted him in the face, he could barely open his eyes. He about fell off the bike when a car honked at him.

He waved it off, assuming he was in their lane. But, the car stopped and rolled down the window. "Phil get in!" It was Dan. Why couldn't this guy leave him alone?

"I'm fine!" Phil called back, getting ready to start pedaling. "Get in the fucking car!" Dan says unlocking the passenger side. Phil knew there was no getting around this. Phil looked at the back of the car. Dan had a fucking bike rack for christ sake.

Phil got into to car, shivering. "W-w-why can't y-you leave m-me be?!" He says. Dan cranks up the heater. "Just shut up and get warm, you're lips are blue," Dan says as he starts driving again. "You honestly thought I was going to let you go home in the rain."

Phil shrugs. "I would've been fine." He says as he starts to thaw out. "I am a human being you know." Phil shakes his head. He was being so stupid.

"And this morning? I was just doing what you told me to, I was pretending to be your boyfriend." Dan knew that Phil was upset this morning because of what Dan did.

"I didn't mention anything about this morning." Phil says coldly. "I know," Dan replies with the same tone.

"Look you can be as cranky and unforgiving with me as you want, I have a good shell. I know this is just gonna pass."

Phil shakes his head. "How do you know all of this huh? How?" Dan looks over at him for a moment, then back at the road. "I just do."

Phil scoffs. "You sound like my mum." Dan decides to lighten the mood.

"Maybe I am your mum," Phil looks over at Dan. "Come on, I can't get a chuckle out of that?" Phil was trying so hard not to smile. He finally broke.

"Ha! See I am funny!" Dan says as he turns down Phil's road. "The joke was funny not you." He says quietly.

"Ooh harsh." Dan pulls into Phil's driveway. "Here we are." Dan says as he shifts the car into park. Phil opens his door half way.

"Thanks." Dan nods as a "You're welcome" and watches Phil get into the house before he backs out. He was determined to get Phil to actually like him. Friend, or more.
