~ One month later~

I was sitting in my room thinking of a couple of words to rhyme with rain for a poem I was writing when my mom called me downstairs. I ran down to her, to see what she needed.

"Can you set the dining table for 9? Helen and her family are coming over for dinner in an hour," my mom smiled happily as she cooked with Matt in the kitchen.

"Sure," I smiled. Greyson and I get along great, he teaches me a lot about what this city is like and some of its weird legends.

I set the table and ran back upstairs to change my clothes. I didn't have to brush my teeth or take a shower because it's not really necessary when you're a vampire.

I rummaged through my closet and picked out a long-sleeved plain black t-shirt, and some black skinny jeans that hug me nicely. I brushed out my hair and put some black Vans on.

"Adi, the Edward's are here early, are you ready?" I hollered back a yes and proceeded to walk down the stairs. I reached the bottom, and found Greyson waiting at the bottom.

"Hello Little One, you look stunning," Greyson muttered in my ear when I hugged him. I smiled against his neck and I felt him shiver when I pressed my nose against his jaw. I laughed a little bit and pulled away, leading him to the dining room. My mom had lit two candles when I went upstairs, and the whole room smelled like vanilla. I took a seat in the middle of the table, and Greyson sat on the opposite side of me. He smirked at me as everybody else placed themselves around us.

Mom brought out the dinner and told us to dig in. I got a little bit of salad and proceeded to eat it. I jumped when I felt Greyson lightly kick me from under the table. I playfully glared at him and tapped him back on his shin with my foot. He chuckled silently, shook his head, and looked down at his plate. I smiled and shook my head too.

The rest of dinner consisted is small talk and small kicks from Greyson. At one point, I was drinking water whilst he kicked me so I almost did a spit take on him, which I found very funny.

Mom walked everybody to the living room, but Greyson stayed behind with me to help clean up. It was the that I realized the strong thirst the food had caused. But not a thirst for water, blood. I shut my eyes and sighed, rubbing temples. Seriously? I have to drink now?

"Hey, are you okay?" Greyson asked, rubbing my back soothingly. I smiled painfully at him and nodded.

"I just need to go get some air," I forced the words out of my burning throat. Greyson's eyes widened as he stared at me.

"Your eyes," he muttered. I quickly looked away and headed towards the back door.

"I'll be right back," I mumbled as I ran outside. Once I got into the forest deep enough, I used my speed and nose to track a deer or some kind of animal, something to hold me off until everybody's asleep so that I could come outside to get enough blood to get me through a couple days. I spotted a deer, and immediately pounced on it, sinking my teeth into its neck in its major capillary. "I'm sorry," I sighed as I finished it off. The sweet blood of the animal soothed the fire in my throat, cleared my head, and sharpened my senses.

"Adi?" Greyson's husky voice sounded behind me. I winced and tried to wipe the blood dripping from the side of my mouth off, before I turned to him.

"I found it like that?" I meant for that to be statement, but it came out as a question. Greyson didn't seem surprised when he saw me. "Do you know?" I sighed out as I rubbed my temples. This is not good.

"I do, Little One, but do you know about us?" Us? As in his family?

"I don't follow," I shook my head, still trying to process that he knew I'm a vampire. How did he find out? I bit my lip in confusion. Greyson sighed and walked right in front of me, so that we were toe to toe. Is he not afraid? Am I the one who should be afraid?

"There's more than vampires in this world, and please don't run away when I say this, but my family and I, we're... werewolves," Greyson spoke slowly, anticipating my reaction. Werewolves. Of course, because my life needs more complicity added to it. "Adi? Please say something," he pleaded after a few minutes of me quietly letting the information sink in. I stared at the ground in confusion, letting my dark coloured hair act as a curtain. "Adi?"

"Okay..." I said as I slowly began to accept his claim. If there's vampires, there is most likely other... things or species that I don't know about.

"And while we're getting all of the truth out, I have one more thing to say. You didn't wipe the blood completely off of your face and you look honestly really funny right now. Like, I'm actually dying inside."

"Greyson, shut the hell up."

"Whatever you say, Little One."
