"Who the hell are you?"

Adriana

I am slightly taken aback by the harshness, but I barely had any time to blink before a hand was around my neck, a wooden stake at my chest. I was pushed up against the open door at least a foot off the ground. The choking was hardly necessary, I don't breathe. Calmly, I looked up at the older man in front of me.

He was a spitting image of Greyson, but with greyish hair and dull eyes. He stared at me with fury, his muscles flexing as he squeezed harder, trying to get a reaction out of me. The end of the stake burned my chest where they touched, and I could hear my skin sizzling.

"Dad! Let go of her!" Greyson commanded, using a strong voice, much stronger than any voice I had ever heard. Greyson's dad's eyes swirled black with rage, and he gave one last squeeze to my neck before he dropped me. I landed gracefully like a cat... Oh the irony. I concentrated on my wound, and I watched it heal. My shirt was torn where the stake was, showing a little bit of my red lacy bra. I frowned.

That was a nice shirt.

"C'mon, Adriana, I'll get you a shirt," Greyson growled, gripping my arm and pulling me up a set of stairs. We walked into a room that had his scent everywhere, and putting two and two together its obvious that this is his room. His muscles were tense as he got a shirt out of his dresser and tossed it to me. I caught it easily.

"Thanks," I mumbled. The tension was thick in here, but it didn't stop the butterflies from having a party in my stomach.

"It's no problem," he said in a strained voice, avoiding my eyes. He turned around and gripped the edge of his bed. His butt though. I snorted silently and continued with my task of changing. I sighed internally and stripped off my ruined shirt, throwing on his. The black shirt was loose, but it didn't go to my knees like some people would say when they get a shirt from somebody. It went right below my hips, and only slipped a tiny bit at the shoulders. All in all it was very comfy. As if sensing I was done, he turned around with a hard face.

As soon as he saw me, his face visibly softened, and he walked over to me, trapping my face in his warm hands.

"I am so sorry about my father. It was completely rude. He's just protective of his family and well... Having a vampire just show up at his front door.. He just got a little possessive," Greyson apologized, looking warily into my eyes. I smiled a little bit and patted his head.

"It's fine Grey. My dad would have been the same wa-" I realized what I had started to say, and I quickly cut off, racing for a new subject. "It's fine. I'll go introduce myself to him, get it straight that I am no harm and all that," I smiled nervously at Greyson, praying he forgot about my slip up. He only smiled and nodded, looking relieved. A breathed a small laugh of nervousness and relief and followed him back downstairs, where Helen was glaring at her husband from across the room. The moment I stepped into the room, their heads both snapped over to me.

I nervously smiled and walked over to Greyson's dad, making sure not to get too close. He sighed and ran a hand over his aging face.

"I'm sorry. I just... There's no excuse for why I did what I did. I hope you can forgive me and we can start over?" He asked with a hopeful smile. I smiled easily this time, sticking my hand straight out to him.

"Hello, sir, my name is Adriana Dillon," I grinned wider when he smiled in relief and gripped my hand with his calloused one.

"Hello there, Adriana. I am former Alpha Robert Edwards of the Crimson Moon Pack," he said with pride as he gave my hand a firm shake and dropped it. I nodded in respect and turned to see Greyson looking at me in awe. I winked and turned back to his family.

"I'm going to go show Adriana around," Greyson quickly said in a gravelly voice. I knit my eyebrows together and he gripped my arm, but not too hard, and dragged me towards the stairs.

"It was nice meeting you!" I called before Greyson had pulled me into his room and shut the door with finality. He stared into my eyes and pinned me against the door. Butterflies came to life inside my stomach as I scanned his set jaw and handsome face so close to mine.

"I have a lot to explain to you, Little One, but if you keep teasing me like that," he grunted and shifted his weight. "You stay right in here, alright?" He said in a deep voice, his eyes sort of in pain. They were swirling black, which made me very curious. I nodded, and he pushed himself away from me, awkwardly waddling in his skinny jeans to an en suite bathroom.

I heard shower water start, and by the lack of steam coming out from under the door, I could tell it was a cold shower. I burst out laughing, and I clutched my stomach. Wiping away an imaginary tear, I flopped onto Greyson's bed, snuggling into his shirt. I heard a groan from the bathroom, and I snorted again.

"Damn vampire hearing," he mumbled. I smiled and closed my eyes.

He'll never hear the end of this one.
