Chapter 1
Five years later
Robin's Pov
"Mommy! Wake up! It's my first day of school!" I said loudly, pulling my momma's blankets away.
She swatted at my hand,"Five more minutes Robby."
"Mom," I said seriously.
"Fine, fine I'm up. Happy?"
"Very happy!"
She laughed and got up. We both went to my room, and she chose out an outfit for me. It was my favorite color. Turqouise! It was a simple dress that she gave me for my birthday. It had white lace on the bottom and the sleeves came to my elbows. It also had little flowers on it. It was really pretty, and it was my favorite one. She took off my pajamas and let me put on the pretty turqouise dress. Then she put my white shoes on my small feet. I squealed, she only allowed me to wear them on special occasions. My mom smiled at me, she knew I was excited. I couldn't wait to go to school. I was going to meet girls my age and boys too, but I wouldn't hang out with the boys cause they had cooties. I wrinkled my nose. My mom started doing my hair, and I winced cause it was really tangled. I had long brown hair just like my mom, and I had hazel eyes. Maybe they were just like my dad's. I didn't have a dad. I'm not sure why though. Momma never talked about him, so I didn't ask. She held on to my hand and we both went to the kitchen. I sat down at the small table, and she gave me cereal! I loved cereal. When I finished, I put on my backpack. It was really pretty, and it had ponies on it. We both went outside and into our car. She was going to drive me to school. I got in the backseat cause I wasn't allowed in the front seat yet.
"Excited princess?" my mom asked.
"Yes Momma! I'm going to finally meet girls my age," I said smiling.
"Yes you are, and you better behave."
"I will Momma."
"Good," she said smiling.
She parked in the front and we both got out. I took her hand, and we walked inside the big school building. We went to a room and it had a sign outside that said "Office". There was a lady sitting behind a large desk. My mom talked to her for a while, and the lady gave her a white sheet. We left soon after, and walked toward another room. Inside where lots of girls and boys around my age. There was a teacher in the front. She looked really nice. She had black hair and brown eyes. She turned our way and she smiled.
"Hello I am Ms. Lola. You must be Robin Hart and Vicky Hart," she said kindly.
"Yes. That's us," my mom said.
She squatted down,"I'm leaving now. You be good. I'll be back for you when school ends."
"Okay Momma."
She kissed my forehead,"I love you princess."
"I love you too Momma."
She left and I walked inside the classroom. I sat down beside a girl with golden hair and light brown eyes. She was writing on a sheet and I saw that her name was Tori Raine. She looked nice. I took out my crayons and started coloring the sheet in front of me.
"Students I'm so glad to have you here! I don't know all of your names, so do you mind saying something about yourselves?" Our teacher said.
"No ma'am," everyone chorused.
We started at the first table. There were seven people at each one and there was four of them.
"Kyle Stanton," a blonde headed boy said.
"Leann Robinson," the girl beside him said.
It went on like that until it was my turn. I stood up shyly and stared at the ground. I was the last one.
"My name's Robin Hart."
Everyone was staring at me, and I blushed.
The girl beside me, named Tori said,"You have a real pretty name. Why did they name you Robin?"
"My mom's favorite bird is a robin, so she named me after it."
She smiled and at me. I think I made a new friend. I sat back down and the teacher started class. When it was time for lunch, we all got in a line. I was behind Tori. We got to the cafeteria, and we all got our food. We sat in the Kindergarten section because there were big kids eating with us too.
"Wanna be bestfriends?" Tori asked.
I smiled,"Okay."
"Yay! I have a bestfriend!"
I giggled,"When do we go out for recess?"
"I'm not sure. Maybe when everybody's finished eating."
I nodded my head, and took my animal crackers out of the package on my plate. I saw a tan hand reach for my animal crackers. My animal crackers.
I slammed my hand down,"What do you think you're doing?"
The boy I reccognized as Kyle shrugged,"I finished mine."
"Yeah. There was no reason for you to take mine."
He shrugged,"Crybaby."
My eyes widened,"I'm not a crybaby!"
"You're daddy says it."
Tears formed in my eyes,"Don't you dare talk about my father."
"Or what, you'll tattle tale?"
"Shut it!" I screeched.
"Crybaby, Crybaby," he chanted.
I finally stood up and slapped him acrosss the face.
"I don't have a father!"
His eyes widened,"I'm sorry," he stuttered.
I turned away from him and stared at the wall. I had never thought about having a father before, and it made me wonder how'd he be. I mean would he love me? And if he did, why did he leave me?
