You cautiously walk into the your local kennels, hoping you're not late on your first day of the job. You really needed a job to help pay for books for your studies and this was probably the best job ever. Taking care of the puppies. You walk over to the front desk and sign in. The owner of the kennels smiles at you.

"You'll be working in the back room. Oh and you won't be working alone." She says. You nod and walk through the door at the back.

When you enter the room the first thing you see is a boy about your age laying on the floor, puppies all over his chest. He was laughing while they licked his face.

"Um hello?" You say.

He stops laughing and looks at you, obviously embarrassed.

"Uh, hi. Um, I'll be up in a minute." He says but the puppies still hold him down.

You laugh and walk over. You lean over him and take the puppies in your arms.

"What's your name? Since we're coworkers and stuff now." You ask, casually.

He sits up and sits crossed legged on the floor.

"Taehyung. What about you?"

"I'm Y/N." He smiles at you and you smile back, blushing. He was almost as cute as the puppies.

"So, you like dogs, huh?" You ask attempting conversation.

He picks up and pup and turns it to face him. He grins as it licks him and you laugh.

"What do you think?" He says.

You spend the morning with him, laughing and talking. He plays tug of war with the puppies and you clean out the kennels and feed them. Toward the afternoon the owner of the kennels comes in.

"Okay guys, you need to take the big dogs for a walk. Don't get lost." She says and leaves. Taehyung sticks his tongue out at her as she walks out.

"C'mon, let's get the leashes." You say and you stand up.

"Awh, I wanna stay with the puppies." He pouts, but relucantly gets up to put the pups back in the kennels.

You let out the dogs and tie them up. There was 7 in total and you had 3 while Taehyung had 4. You walk outside and head toward the local park. As soon as you get there, however, the biggest dog you have takes off dragging you with it.

"Ahh!" You yell as you try to keep up with it. You can hear Taehyung laughing behind you.

As you run with the dog, you trip and the leash snaps. The dog runs off while you face plant the floor.

"Ow." You mutter and the other dogs nuzzle and lick your face.

"Are you alright?" Asks Taehyung running up to you. You nod and stand up, your face hurting. You touch it and when you bring your hand back its spotted with blood.

He stands in front of you and hold the dogs leashes with one hand, using the other one to tilt your head to the side. He looks at you cheek, a concerned expression on your face. He strokes your cheek gently.

"That looks painful. Do you want to go back?" He asks, smiling kindly at you.

"No. We need to find the other dog." You say.

"Oh yeah. Let's go." You run with the rest of the dogs in the direction he first dog ran in.

You search hours and it starts to get dark. You're really worried by now and Taehyung bites his lip.

"We have to back. We can't look for it in the dark."

"This is all my fault. I can't believe I let the dog go. And if we don't find him we'll both be fired and its unfair and you." You feel awful and you bury your face in your hands.

Suddenly, Taehyung walks over to you and wraps his arms around you, holding you close to him. The dogs sit around you both, exhausted from the day.

"It'll be alright, Y/N. You take the dogs back and I'll keep looking." He whispers to you.

You nod and take the leash from his cold hands. He lets you go.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"Yeah, I'm a big boy. Trust me." He grins at you and runs off.

You walk back to the kennels, shivering. You stand just outside the kennels. You wait anxiously for what seems like hours for Taehyung to return and you start to get really worried. Is he alright?

Finally, after you had resolved to go after him, he returns, the dog bouncing around behind him.

"Taehyung! You're a life saver." You say and you reach up and kiss his cheek. He blushes, turning a deep red.

"It's not problem... After all I really don't want to be fired." He says and you laugh at him.

You walk into the kennels and your boss seems pleased about how long the walk was, to your delight. You lead the dogs back into their cages. You kneel in front of the puppies and they all rush to you, licking at your fingers as your poke them through the bars.

"Y/N?" Asks Taehyung suddenly. You stand up and face him, smiling.

"What is it?"

"I'm glad I have you to work with... Even if you have a tendency to lose dogs."

"Oh, shut up." You laugh and push him playfully

You walk out of the room and sign out. You wander down the street in silence together until you have to split up to home.

"Um, I'll see you tomorrow?" You say as you walk away.

"Wait!" He says and you turn back to him. "I want to see you again... Outside of work."

"Really? Um, do you want my number?" You ask. He grins and nods.
You recite your phone number and he types into his phone.

"I'll call you soon. Trust me." He gives you a small wink and blush crimson.

He leans in and gently presses his lips to your cheek. He pulls back and walks off. You watch him go, thinking that puppies were great but he was better.
