I ran back to my mother who was in tears kneeled beside me. The fire department is 12km away there would be no point and we don't have a car my moms car was 10 years old and broke down yesterday it was totally ruined we were supposed to go look at new ones today but I'm guessing not anymore the house continued to burn we walked into the woods to be at a safe distance away from the house in case it starts to fall. I'm not sure Jack really understood well I guess neither did I. We were all pretty confused and had a lot of questions but I think we needed to let this sink in and hold our questions off till the morning. The one thing that wasn't locked was the old garden shed that we kind of abandoned it was hidden in the woods we keep it incase of emergency's inside it had 4 sleeping bags so we decided to rough it and sleep outside. My mom had some whole thing about how we could not tell anyone about the fire I don't know why but it was strictly not allowed and I don't think anyone was up for an argument. We all had a awful sleep all I dreamt about was the fire and seeing Jack's little face crying I clenched and I would wake screaming and crying beside my mother who also got no sleep she held me tight and told me that it was all going to be okay her reassuring voice always made me calm but not this time. In the morning the birds chirped loudly and all of us were pretty upset that it wasn't just a dream. Later my mother started to explain some things she pulled an opened envelope out of her pocket and said "last week I got a random letter from your dad it read Dear, Mary I have an emergency, you remember my brother Phil? Well I kind of did something that I shouldn't mention to him and now he is after me he found your address and thinks I live there so I think he will be planning his revenge soon if you move out of that house I will send you the money for it I know this is strange but I still care about you guys and it is strictly business between me and him so he does not need to bring my family into this." My mother gave an angry snort when he said that as you can see she was still pretty mad. She continued reading "so get out of the house as fast as you can. From: Dan P.S what ever you do, do not go to the police it will just make it 100 times worse."
"Wait so is that what all the locks are for?" I asked impatiently. " I imagine that was apart of your uncle's revenge on your father. "Wow what ever he did must have been pretty bad " I said
"well with your father things are always are pretty bad."
