Because my mom couldn't tell the police or the fire department or anyone she decided to go up to our tiny, tiny and did I not mention tiny cottage it basically was a shack but with one out house and one extremely tiny bedroom with two tiny pull-out couches. But to get there we needed to take the bus so my mom dug up some secret hidden box filled with a little bit of money and we walked into town what was crazy busy and started our journey. When we got on the bus no one sat beside us I'm pretty sure it was because we smelled like ashes, looked like we just got attacked by bears, and we haven't washed our clothes since the day before the fire. Once we got off the bus it was more walking for us we walked miles and miles but it was 10 times worse for my mom who had to carry jack because he refused to walk. Now we were all starving my mom went to go get food with the left over extra money. She brought home a huge box of power bars and a large refillable water can. Finally we arrived at the extremely small shack/cottage/are last hope! Despite the old roofing and the unpainted wood holding that place together it looked surprisingly warm and welcoming but I guess after what just happened anything would. We crawled inside the small shack and placed our stuff inside what was basically nothing then set up our beds mom and Jack slept on one couch and I got the other to myself we laid in bed and mom handed each of us a power bar along with herself we ate them all drifted to sleep. In the morning there was 2 glasses of milk on the small beside table and 2 power bars but no mom when I woke up it made me worried about where she was but then Jack woke up so I had to put up a brave face and lie right to his. "Where is mom" Jack said as he slowly woke up rubbing his eyes "she just went for a walk" I said trying not to smile I was a terrible liar. Later on she came barging in the door with three large fish me and Jack both smiled we loved fish that was our most favourite meal. "Get ready to cook pretend this is like a camping trip find some wood grab the lighter and some small twigs and let's get these fish cooked!" Yes!" Me and Jack both said in sync. The fish cooked and it reminded me of when mom used to cook fish we would sit at the table with our plates ready to eat except then there were four of us the thought made my eyes water. We ate then the rain came down it poured and poured for hours all we did was sit I tried to teach Jack some handshakes or fun games but he didn't really get it then we all just layed down and slept.
